The remainder consists of material which it proved inappropriate to publish serially in a daily newspaper. So many friends and acquaintances have helped me in this work that it is impractical - I was almost going to say impolitic - for me to acknowledge my indebtedness by formally naming them. I cannot, however, omit a word of appreciation for the farsighted policy displayed in making the columns of The Daily News Record an open forum for the discussion of this tremendously important subject.
