Asians Don't Diet

Asians Don't Diet PDF Author: Bora Gyeong
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781515335559
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 32

Book Description
Asians have the lowest body fat and least amount of heart problems of any ethnic culture in the world. Bora Gyeong's new eBook explains why. Numerous studies have demonstrated that Asians have a lower body fat percentage than their western counterparts. The "whys" of this data are what Bora Gyeong presents in his new eBook, "Asians Don't Diet." Gyeong breaks the book down into various chapters involving what Asians eat, how they eat, when they eat, as well as, their habits in regards to transportation, work, and schedule. The picture and evidence she presents is rational and makes a good argument for adopting many of the habits of Asians to have a healthier lifestyle. "There isn't a 'diet culture' in Asia," Gyeong explains. "People just live and do what their family and community around them does. They don't drink soda like those in western countries. They drink tea. Beef and pork take a back seat to fish and vegetables. Rice is a staple, not pasta. All of this has a huge impact on why Asians are thinner in general and live longer despite other unhealthy habits like smoking which are prevalent in their culture today." The eBook presents the care and outlines various techniques that will support a healthy body weight and more energetic lifestyle. Some of the techniques are easy to do: reduce soda consumption and drink more tea, eat rice instead of pasta, eat more fish instead of beef, include more vegetables in the daily diet. Others like martial arts require that someone invest money, but in general the techniques presented in the book are "free", healthy, and will reduce an individual's body fat percentage while also improving his or her overall health. Book Description
By documenting, analyzing, and interpreting the transformations in the local diets of Asian peoples within the last hundred years, this volume tries to pinpoint the consequences of the tension between homogenization and cultural heterogenization, which is so characteristic for today’s global interaction. By focusing on Asian foodways, the contributors demonstrate how the local and global forces negotiate new hybrid lifestyles, how new commodities become embedded in new cultures and how new identities are embraced through the acceptance and rejection of new forms of consumption. Contributors: Helen Bush, Cheng Sea-ling, Pat Caplan, Katarzyna Cwiertka, Adel P. Den Hartog, Robert W. Pemberton, Anneke Van Otterloo, Boudewijn C. A. Walraven, Merry I. White, Rory Williams.

Asian Detox Diet

Asian Detox Diet PDF Author: Bora Gyeong
Publisher: Createspace Independent Publishing Platform
ISBN: 9781515336624
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 38

Book Description
The Asian Detox Diet by Bora Gyeong Now Available on Amazon! The Asian Detox Diet is the latest wellness book by Bora Gyeong that seeks to apply Asian principles of eating to western culture. It is demonstrably obvious that Asians have less body fat and fewer heart problems than their western counterparts. While many people would consider this a genetic anomaly, it is clear that lifestyle and eating habits play a huge role in why those Asians who live in their native lands are slimmer than those who move to the west and adopt the western diet. Those who retain the types of habits and foods of their homeland are more apt to also retain a slimmer physique and fewer health issues. This has been the subject of previous books by Gyeong and covered more thoroughly within. This latest work, "The Asian Detox Diet" is the next in Gyeong''s series and details how to detox and reboot the body without fasting simply by being selective in the types of foods being eaten. "There are reasons to fast," Gyeong explains. "None of which are to lose weight. If you want to lose weight you need to expel the waste that is built up in your system, slowing it down, and making you feel bloated and sick. How you do this is through roughage, water, but not ''fasting.''" The principles of the detox outlined in the new eBook are based around Asian principles of homeopathy and evidence-based methodology, as well as, the meal of the average Asian diet. Shifting foods from one type to the next, employing new spices, adding roughage-all done in appropriate measures and means will force the body to evacuate those harmful toxins and excess waste it has been holding onto. The eBook details an approach to the Asian diet, the types of foods to eat, and various spice techniques to get the body working at optimal levels once more. Book Description
The traditional Asian diet, based on plant foods such as vegetables, beans, legumes, fruits, nuts, and vegetable oils, has been followed across the continent for thousands of years. Although specific diets vary among different countries and regions, they have many components in common. Rice and/or noodles are staples. Although fish and/or seafood are common where available, meat is rarely a main course but may be used in dishes for accent and flavor.Approximately 60% of the world's population lives in Asia, and more than 43 countries follow some form of Asian diet. Food is an important part of daily life across Asia, and meals are an essential component of family relationships. Although varying religious practices and traditions dictate the types of foods eaten in specific Asian diets, and each country and region has distinct ingredients and cooking styles, there are many common elements. The Asian diet is based on fresh plant foods served raw, steamed, stirfried, or deep-fried. Fish and seafood are common in island nations and along coastlines, but meat is relatively rare. The Asian diet generally focuses on balance, with an ideal daily energy (calorie) content of about 1,200-1,400 calories. The traditional plant-based Asian diet is considered to be very healthy. It is high in fresh fruits and vegetables and fiber and low in fat and calories. The traditional Asian diet is also high in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other micronutrients. Antioxidants help to prevent oxidative damage to the cells of the body from free radicals. Free radicals are the byproducts of normal metabolic functions as well as environmental toxins that are ingested and inhaled. Antioxidants may reduce the risk of certain forms of cancer and heart disease. Saturated fats, which contribute to chronic illnesses, including obesity, coronary heart disease, and cancer, are almost completely absent from the Asian diet. Asians following a traditional diet are among the healthiest and longest-lived peoples, with lower rates of many illnesses common in the Western world, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, cancer, and obesity. Death rates from cardiovascular disease in Japan are less than half the rates in the United States. Residents of Okinawa, off the Japanese coast, are one of the longest-lived populations on earth. An increase in Western-style diets in Asia has correlated with increases in heart disease, cancer, and obesity rates across the continent.
