The name of William Cook appears on the cover and twice inside, where the dates 1750 and 1751 are written. But on the verso of leaf 25 an account of Thomas Arden appears to be drawn from E. Jacob's reprint of the play (London, 1770), p. iv; and on the recto of leaf 25 the authorship of the play is attributed to Shakespeare, an attribution generally credited to Jacob (op.cit.).
