Book Description
Dr. Gregory L. Smith, the author of the best selling guidebook on CBD, delivers the first ever patient-focused and scientifically-supported book for individuals who want to learn about the benefits of THCV.THCV has several unique effects on the body which are very different from both CBD and THC. THCV causes the exact opposite of the 'munchies' and works by blocking the CB1 receptors on certain centers in the brain that are associated with hunger. This results in a decreased release of dopamine in response to seeing or smelling our favorite foods, and also a decrease in the release of the hormone that causes the stomach to rumble with hunger pangs and increases the sensation of felling full. This makes THCV the ultimate "appetie-killer," so to speak. Unlike all other appetite suppressants currently available, THCV works without causing the jitters or by increasing blood pressure. It is a very natural way to decrease one's appetite. Studies suggest that the average adult can expect 2 to 2.5 lbs of weight loss per month by adding a twice daily dose to their health regimen. The book also discusses several other nutraceuticals hat work in unison with THCV for weight loss, including curicumin, cinnamon, green tea extracts, chromium and other probiotics. Loaded with pertinent studies and science-based information, this guidebook also provides detailed instructions on how to dose THCV and how to work closely with physicians.

It also works with the body to help naturally improve blood sugar and blood lipid levels. This delightful book provides a concise history of hemp and cannabis sativa throughout history and a discussion of the laws related to hemp and cannabis. This is followed by a discussion of how THCV works with the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS) to reduce the effects of food aromas, and taste and decrease our appetite and hunger pangs. Book Description
Obesity is the result of ingesting more calories than those burned during exercise and normal daily activities. A relevant statistic in overweight people is the body mass index, which is at or above thirty. Obesity is the accumulation of fatty deposits in the human body. It has become a public health problem worldwide, affecting all social classes. There is an estimated 1 billion overweight people worldwide, 300 million of whom are already obese, and by 2025 these figures could multiply. The consequences of this disease revolve around cardiovascular and metabolic problems, not to mention respiratory disorders. That is why every obese patient has a short life expectancy, since the long-term success rate is low and, usually, the weight loss is regained in a short time so that the comorbidities associated with it reappear. Therefore, the affected person begins to consume large amounts of medications to treat all the complications of obesity. Several receptors comprise the endocannabinoid system (ECS. The most important are CB1 and CB2, and the endogenous ligands called anandamide (AEA) and 2-Arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), enzymes responsible for their formation and degradation. We will discover, in this audiobook, that the endocannabinoid system is relevant in modulating the reward and reinforcement circuit of ingestion. Because in the mesolimbic system are CB1 receptors with dopaminergic D1 and D2 receptors. Rimonabant, a selective CB1 receptor antagonist, is part of the traditional obesity treatment. The receptor inhibits the cannabinoid agonist's pharmacological effects "in vitro" and "in vivo". Rimonabant is auxiliary to diet and exercise when treating obese patients (with body mass index ≥ 30 kg/m2), or overweight (BMI > 27 kg/m2), with associated risk factors, such as type 2 diabetes or dyslipidemia. However, in 2008 this drug was withdrawn from the market because of the increase in suicide rates linked to it. However, THCV (tetrahydrocannabivarin), a natural phytocannabinoid with a similar chemical structure to THC, but might present low psychoactive effects. It is one of several active ingredients of Cannabis sativa. And finally, we will know how cannabinoids work in obesity as well as their dosage. At Pharmacology University, we care about you and your health. It is the reason behind why we decided to include in our series of books this interesting topic for you and your family. Enjoy it!

Book Description
Named a 2023 TOP BOOK ON CANNABIS by CBD Oracle 2020 GOLD MEDAL WINNER of the Nonfiction Book Awards (Nonfiction Authors Association) An Informative Read for an Audience Interested in Why and How Medical Cannabis Helps Treat a Range of Illnesses—Maybe All of Them With cannabis approved in fourteen states (including the District and two US territories), medical cannabis approved in at least 35 states, and hemp (very-low-THC cannabis) off the controlled substances list, millions now treat their ills with medical cannabis or non-intoxicating cannabinoids like CBD. But lots of them don’t know why or how cannabis works in the body. Healing with Cannabis informs readers about an ancient biological system newly discovered in every vertebrate on the planet—the endocannabinoid system. This system is the only reason cannabis works in the body, and it’s why cannabis is effective in a broad range of disorders. The book offers an informal tone, a little humor, interviews with some of the most knowledgeable cannabinoid scientists, color images, and a selection of research and clinical trials to recount the story of the endocannabinoid system, its origins in the earliest forms of life on Earth, the evolution of its elements, and the discoveries, millions of years later, of more of its elements over time. Healing with Cannabis explains the surprising reasons evolution conserved the endocannabinoid system over a billion years and tells specifically how cannabis has positive effects on some of society’s most devastating illnesses, including neurodegenerative diseases, post-traumatic stress disorder, pain, movement disorders, cancer and chemotherapy, and addiction. The book also shows how medical cannabis, widely available, will change the face of public health, and how nearly everyone can benefit from this versatile medicine that has a 5,000-year history of safe and effective use.
