Vinzenz Bronzin's Option Pricing Models
Author: Wolfgang Hafner
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 3540857117
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 553
Book Description
In 1908, Vinzenz Bronzin, a professor of mathematics at the Accademia di Commercio e Nautica in Trieste, published a booklet in German entitled Theorie der Prämiengeschäfte (Theory of Premium Contracts) which is an old type of option contract. Almost like Bachelier’s now famous dissertation (1900), the work seems to have been forgotten shortly after it was published. However, almost every element of modern option pricing can be found in Bronzin’s book. He derives option prices for an illustrative set of distributions, including the Normal. - This volume includes a reprint of the original German text, a translation, as well as an appreciation of Bronzin's work from various perspectives (economics, history of finance, sociology, economic history) including some details about the professional life and circumstances of the author. The book brings Bronzin's early work to light again and adds an almost forgotten piece of research to the theory of option pricing.

Integrated Evaluation for the Management of Contemporary Cities
Author: Giulio Mondini
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3319782711
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 618
Book Description
This book highlights a selection of the best papers presented at the 2016 SIEV conference “The Laudato sì Encyclical Letter and Valuation. Cities between Conflict and Solidarity, Decay and Regeneration, Exclusion and Participation”, which was held in Rome, Italy, in April 2016, and brought together experts from a diverse range of fields – economics, appraisal, architecture, energy, urban planning, sociology, and the decision sciences – and government representatives. The book is divided into four parts: Human Ecology: Values and Paradigms; Integral Ecology and Natural Resource Management; Intergenerational Equity; and How to Enhance Dialogue and Transparency in Decision-making Processes. Cities are where 72% of all Europeans live, and this percentage is expected to rise to 80% by 2050. Given this trend towards urbanization, cities are continuously growing, which also entails a growing risk of social segregation, lack of security and mounting environmental problems. All too often, today’s cities have to cope with social and environmental crises, shifting the European urban agenda towards regeneration processes. Urban regeneration is more complex than merely renovating existing buildings, as it also involves social and environmental problems, inhabitants’ quality of life, protecting tangible and intangible cultural resources, innovation and business.

From Economists to Economists
Author: Pier Francesco Asso
Publisher: Edizioni Polistampa
ISBN:
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 468
Book Description
This book contains 12 essays which examine the international diffusion of Italian economic thought in 8 countries, namely England, France, Germany and Austria, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United States. Using different approaches, the contributors to this book discuss the international reputation of Italian economists between 1750 and 1950. This reconstruction of the flow of ideas from economists to economists provides original insights on the intellectual network (including institutions, learned societies, specialised journals and political authorities)in wich Italian economic thought was transmitted and circulated. It also serves to measure and explain the specific degree of influence which Italian economists managed to exert within different international contexts and among different groups of scholars. Galiani, Verri, Beccaria, Pantaleoni, Pareto, the Italian school of public finance and the Italian Economists in the interwar years are some of the authors whose reputation, knowledge and influence has been thoroughly investigated in these essays.
