Solar radio phenomena designated as post-burst decreases, absorptions, and negative-burst events are extremely rare and seem to be the only evidence of temporary decreases in the sun's radio emission. The presence of optically identified material in the flare/burst region is merely an association and not the cause of the observed radio decreases as has been suggested by earlier investigators.
