Fabricates self-assembled magnetic nickel (Ni) nanoparticles with controlled sizes in alumina (Al2O3) matrix and characterizes them for their structural and magnetic properties. Conducts the growth of these nanostructures using pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique which takes place under Volmer-Weber (V-W) thin film growth mode due to large surface energy differences between Ni and Al2O3. Optimizes conditions for PLD and calibrates film thicknesses using both optical and mechanical profilometer.
