Book Description
"Surviving Stress and Rediscover The Awesome You!" Whatever we do, Stress is an essential part of our lives and we just can't wish it away…… we might as well learn to deal with it constructively. Stress in everyday life is a killer in itself and when we become parents, the stress multiplies. The first section in this book deals with my ways of surviving stress, balancing between work, patients, kids and home. When I became a parent I learnt patience and acceptance. I even had to unlearn many a tricks which I utilized for teaching my elder one, because they were just not correct for the younger one…. The whole parenting business is maddening with continuous dillemma of "how much is too much'' and how less is too less'. The need to become a better person, a better parent has also been extremely strong, always. Thus, I learnt new lessons, identified my weaknesses and strengths and emerged as a ''New ME''. I realized how societal conditioning restricts our growth; how we need to identify our bonds so as to free ourselves and become our awesome self. Identifying the clutches of conditioning and then disentangling from them made me write about the second part in this book. This book is divided into two sections - the first section deals with the lessons I learnt regarding stress management and the second is devoted to learning about the societal conditioning and rediscovering our awesomeness. Hope you enjoy reading it. Vizmom!

Surviving Stress

Surviving Stress PDF Author: Lynda K. Wilson-Hare

ISBN: 1581123647

Book Description
A study of professional women was initiated to determine if herbal adaptogens have any effect on improving resiliency for coping with stress. An herbal adaptogen is an herb that helps the body adjust to difficult or extreme circumstances (Derrida, 2004). An iridology assessment was completed to define the subjects genetic profile for resiliency. It was hypothesized that if the person were genetically resilient, herbal adaptogens would not be effective, as their stress-handling capabilities were naturally strong. Through resiliency questionnaires, a positive improvement in the ability to manage stress was noted in 11 out of 12 subjects post-herbal intake. This research suggested that our ability to recover from stress is not totally related to our genetic properties, and can be enhanced with herbal supplements.

The Stress Code

The Stress Code PDF Author: Richard Sutton
Publisher: Pan Macmillan South africa

Category : Self-Help
Languages : en
Pages : 321

Book Description
‘One of the greatest lessons Richard has taught me is the immense power of positive habits in shaping realities. His approach to stress management and resilience has completely transformed my life.’ - NATASHA SIDERIS, Founder and CEO of the Tashas group Stress impacts all facets of our lives and has devastating effects on the global economy, including reduced productivity and the burden it places on healthcare systems. Decades of research show that chronic stress severely compromises our physical and mental health. More recently, it has been revealed that stress can destabilise our DNA and affect our genetic integrity. This promotes many of the diseases that societies are currently grappling with and could potentially impact future generations. Yet stress has two faces: ongoing stress is one of the biggest challenges faced globally, but short intervals of stress can actually offer tremendous potential to grow, break personal barriers and excel. Turning the traditional stress paradigm on its head, The Stress Code does not advocate stress avoidance, but rather aims to create an adaptable strategy to better manage stress. Supported by extensive scientific research, the book offers readers tools and skills to help buffer the adverse effects of chronic stress, enhance functionality and health, and help us to thrive in situations of adversity.
