Nathaniel Butterfield (1823-1900), the son of Elijah and Mary (Polly) Webster, moved from New York to Danville, Illinois in 1827 (after his parents' death, he moved to live with an aunt and uncle. He married Isabella Jane Bryarly in 1842, lived in Missouri and Illinois, in 1846 settled in Green County, Wisconsin, and between 1870 and 1880 moved to Waterloo and then Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Descendants and relatives lived in Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Texas and elsewhere.
