WHERE THE SUNFLOWERS BLOOM
Author: José A. Ramírez Jr.
Publisher: José A. Ramírez Jr.
ISBN:
Category : Art
Languages : en
Pages : 249
Book Description
What follows is not a story of politics, nor it is of ideological divergences. Rather, it is a very human story that projects the suffering of human beings along with their desire to be free and the mutual support they must in many cases give to each other in order to achieve these desires. It is also worth clarifying that, although this is a fictional story, it is within the time frame of real historical events that overshadowed the history of a country and the entire world for almost three decades. Where the Sunflowers Bloom tells the story of a young man who, living as a prisoner within his own city, lived looking out his window at a field of sunflowers beyond the walls that separated him from the free world, although for some time he was able to visit the field and cut sunflowers for his sick mother who loved these flowers for a special reason. Then, when the regime that rules the side of the city where he lives with his mother closes the way, he is unable to continue collecting these flowers and also to be able to leave his city freely. Although the characters and what is told about them in this novel are fictional, the historical setting and characters with whom their stories are intertwined are real. The events narrated here clouded our human history for decades. And far from tarnishing the memory and martyrdom of the real characters, tries to tell the story of them, including details that, although perhaps did not happen in the way described, has been devised as a tribute to the memory of all those who perished in such a cruel way and to that of those who survived this unjust ordeal. Despite the story, the characters could have been real, and their story could have been the story of hundreds more and it could have been repeated on multiple occasions, only this time it will be captured in a novel that not only aims to give a dramatic feature to the story as such, but also wants to incorporate here a very human reflection, in which it is about creating awareness on the walls that still exist and divide human beings today.
