Book Description
We present an update of the study of the Y(4260) resonance, produced in the process ee− →?{sub ISR}?+?− J/? using initial-state radiation events at the PEP-II e+e− storage rings. This study is based on 454 fb−1 of data recorded with the BABAR detector at a center-of-mass energy in the?(4S) resonance region. From a fit with a single non-relativistic Breit-Wigner shape we obtain updated parameters for the Y(4260) resonance which are m{sub Y} = 4252 ± 6−3{sup +2} MeV/c2 and?{sub Y} = 105 ± 18−6{sup +4} MeV/c2; we also measure?(?+?− J/?)?{sub e{sup +}e−} = (7.5 ± 0.9 ± 0.8) eV. We cannot confirm the recent BELLE observation of a broad structure around 4.05GeV/c2 in this decay mode.

Book Description
The process e[sup +]e[sup -] --> [pi][sup +][pi][sup -][pi][sup 0][gamma] has been studied at a center-of-mass energy near the [Upsilon](4S) resonance using a 89.3 fb[sup -1] data sample collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II collider. From the measured 3[pi] mass spectrum the authors have obtained the products of branching fractions for the [omega] and [phi] mesons, B([omega] --> e[sup +]e[sup -])B([omega] --> 3[pi]) = (6.70 [+-] 0.06 [+-] 0.27) x 10[sup -5] and B([phi] --> e[sup +]e[sup -])B([phi] --> 3[pi]) = (4.30 [+-] 0.08 [+-] 0.21) x 10[sup -5], and evaluated the e[sup +]e[sup -] --> [pi][sup +][pi][sup -][pi][sup 0] cross section for the e[sup +]e[sup -] center-of-mass energy range 1.05 to 3.00 GeV. About 900 e[sup +]e[sup -] --> J/[psi][gamma] --> [pi][sup +][pi][sup -][pi][sup 0] events have been selected and the branching fraction B(J/[psi] --> [pi][sup +][pi][sup -][pi][sup 0]) = (2.18 [+-] 0.19)% has been measured.

Book Description
The authors present three analyses on charmonium production using 89 fb[sup -1] of e[sup +]e[sup -] collision data collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage ring operating at the [Upsilon](4S) at SLAC. A precise measurement of the [eta][sub c] total width is obtained from a study of the invariant K[sub s][sup 0]K[sup [+-]][pi][sup [-+]] mass spectrum for a sample of [eta][sub c] mesons produced in two-photon interactions. The total width of the J/[psi] meson is measured using initial state radiation e[sup +]e[sup -] [yields] [mu][sup +][mu][sup -][gamma] events. Finally branching fraction measurements for the exclusive B meson decays B[sup 0] [yields] J/[psi] p[bar p] and B[sup +] [yields] J/[psi] p[bar [Lambda]] are presented.

Book Description
The near-threshold enhancement in the p p-bar invariant mass spectrum of the reaction J/Psi --> gamma p p-bar, observed in an experiment by the BES Collaboration, is analysed. It is shown, within the Watson-Migdal approach to final state interactions, that the mass dependence of the p p-bar spectrum close to the threshold can be reproduced by the S-wave p p-bar interaction of the Jülich N N-bar model in the isospin I=1 state. Difficulties in the consistent interpretation of the p invariant mass spectrum of the reaction J/Psi --> pi^0 p p-bar, where there are no obvious signs for a final state interaction, are discussed.

A Study of 3- and 4-Body Hadronic Final States Using Initial State Radiation with BaBar

Book Description
A study of several 3- and 4-body hadronic final states ({pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0}, {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}, K{sup +}K{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} and K{sup +}K{sup -}K{sup +}K{sup -}) accompanied by hard photon is presented. These states are produced from e{sup +}e{sup -} collisions at the c.m. energy near {Upsilon}(4S) resonance using 90 fb{sup -1} data sample collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II collider. The invariant mass of the hadronic final state determines the virtual photon energy, so that data can be compared with direct e{sup +}e{sup -} cross sections. The cross sections for the above final states have been obtained from the threshold to 4.5 GeV with about 5% systematic errors. The accuracy of the results are comparable with the best direct e{sup +}e{sup -} results overall and with much better precision in 1.4-2.5 GeV region where very few data are available. In addition to light meson spectroscopy these data can be used to improve the determination of R--the ratio of e{sup +}e{sup -} {yields} hadrons cross section to e{sup +}e{sup -} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -}--and thereby to impact the understanding of recent (g - 2){sub {mu}} measurement. The ISR technique also gives access to J/{psi} production. Measurements of branching ratios into 3- and 4-body final states given above are made to a level of precision that is typically better than that obtained in the combined earlier measurements.
