NOUS AVONS ETUDIE LA SYNTHESE ET LA CARACTERISATION DE NOUVEAUX OXYDES SUPRACONDUCTEURS A BASE DE PLOMB (PB,A)SR#2(Y,CA)CU#2O#7## (A = MG, ZN, NI, SC, FE, GA ET CD) ET (PB,HG)(SR,LA)#2CUO#4#+# DE TYPES RESPECTIFS PB-1212 ET PB-1201. LES RESULTATS OBTENUS PERMETTENT DE DEMONTRER QUE LES COUCHES INTERMEDIAIRES (PB,A)O SONT TRES FLEXIBLES ET CAPABLES D'ACCUEILLIR UNE GRANDE DIVERSITE DE CATIONS. LES PROPRIETES SUPRACONDUCTRICES DE CES PHASES PEUVENT ETRE AMELIOREES PAR RECUIT SOUS PRESSION OU FLUX D'OXYGENE. LE COMPORTEMENT DU PLOMB, AU SEIN DE CES PLANS, APPARAIT DEPENDRE DE LA NATURE DU CATION A ASSOCIE. L'ETUDE STRUCTURALE SUR MONOCRISTAL DE L'OXYDE (PB,CD)SR#2YCU#2O#7 A AINSI DEMONTRE LA COMPLEXITE DE COMPOSITION ET DE DISTRIBUTION DES ATOMES DANS LES PLANS (PB,CD)O. LA SUBSTITUTION DU CUIVRE PAR LE FER ET L'OBTENTION DE DEUX SERIES ORIGINALES D'OXYDES DE FER (TL#1#-#XPB#X)SR#3FE#2O#8 ET (TL#1#-#XPB#X)SR#4FE#2O#9 DE STRUCTURES ANALOGUES AUX CUPRATES SUPRACONDUCTEURS DE TYPES 1212 ET 1201-0201 NOUS ONT PERMIS D'UTILISER LA SPECTROSCOPIE MOSSBAUER DU #5#7FE COMME MOYEN D'INVESTIGATION LOCAL. L'EXISTENCE DE PLUSIEURS SITES MOSSBAUER EST AINSI MISE EN EVIDENCE POUR LES ATOMES DE FER QUI PRESENTENT LA DOUBLE VALENCE FE#3#+/FE#4#+. LA STRUCTURE DES PLANS (TL,PB)O A ETE ETABLIE PAR DIFFRACTION DES NEUTRONS ET DES RAYONS X. ELLE IMPLIQUE DES MISES EN ORDRE LOCALES DES ATOMES QUI AFFECTENT UNIQUEMENT LES CATIONS (CAS DES PLANS TLO) OU SIMULTANEMENT LES CATIONS ET LES ANIONS (CAS DES PLANS PBO) CONDUISANT, POUR LES IONS TL#3#+, A UNE COORDINENCE TETRAEDRIQUE ET, POUR LES IONS PB#4#+, A UNE COORDINENCE OCTAEDRIQUE. LA DIFFICULTE DE STABILISATION DES TETRAEDRES PBO#4 EST DEMONTREE PAR L'OBTENTION DES PHASES DEFICITAIRES PB#1#-#YSR#4FE#2O#9 ET (PB,A)#1#-#YSR#4FE#2O#9 (A = HG, CD) (0Y0,2)

Structural Control of Mineral Deposits

Structural Control of Mineral Deposits PDF Author: Alain Chauvet
Publisher: MDPI
ISBN: 3038977845
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 256

Book Description
"Structural Control” remains a crucial point that frequently lacks in any scientific and/or economic analysis of ore deposits, whatever their type and class. The case of lode deposits is exemplary, although also other deposits, like breccia pipe, stockwerk, massive sulphides, skarn, etc., can, surprisingly, be concerned. Several concepts like the gold-bearing shear zone have not proven valid during the last few decades in terms of our understanding of gold deposit and have been totally abandoned. Additionally, the relationships between magmatism, regional tectonic context, and mineralization remain uncertain and have been debated in several recent publications. This demonstrates that this issue is still relevant, and its solution may help in the distinction between intrusion-related and orogenic deposits. In this Special Issue, we particularly invite any case study of mineral deposits, in which it has been demonstrated that structural geology may have a significant role in the establishment of the deposit model of formation and/or on exploration and exploitation programs. Examples in which the structural model diverges from those described in the classical literature are particularly welcomed, including studies in which relationships with magmatism can be suspected and/or demonstrated. Indeed, all cases that illustrate concepts that differ from the classic ones and from theoretical models may represent significant contributions to this volume.

Critical Metals Handbook

Critical Metals Handbook PDF Author: Gus Gunn
Publisher: John Wiley & Sons
ISBN: 1118755219
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 468

Book Description
Mankind is using a greater variety of metals in greater quantities than ever before. As a result there is increasing global concern over the long-term availability of secure and adequate supplies of the metals needed by society. Critical metals, which are those of growing economic importance that might be susceptible to future scarcity, are a particular worry. For many of these we have little information on how they are concentrated in the Earth’s crust, how to extract them from their ores, and how to use, recycle and dispose of them effectively and safely. Published with the British Geological Survey, the Critical Metals Handbook brings together a wealth of knowledge on critical metals and provides a foundation for improving the future security and sustainability of critical metal supplies. Written by international experts, it provides a unique source of authoritative information on diverse aspects of the critical metals, including geology, deposits, processing, applications, recycling, environmental issues and markets. It is aimed at a broad non-specialist audience, including professionals and academics working in the exploration and mining sectors, in mining finance and investment, and in mineral processing and manufacturing. It will also be a valuable reference for policy makers concerned with resource management, land-use planning, eco-efficiency, recycling and related fields.

The Rare Earth Elements

The Rare Earth Elements PDF Author: David A. Atwood
Publisher: John Wiley & Sons
ISBN: 111863263X
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 994

Book Description
Lanthanides are of great importance for the electronic industries, this new book (from the EIBC Book Series) provides a comprehensive coverage of the basic chemistry, particularly inorganic chemistry, of the lanthanoid elements, those having a 4f shell of electrons. A chapter is describing the similarity of the Group 3 elements, Sc, Y, La, the group from which the lanthanoids originate and the group 13 elements, particularly aluminum, having similar properties. Inclusion of the group 3 and 13 elements demonstrates how the lanthanoid elements relate to other, more common, elements in the Periodic Table. Beginning chapters describe the occurrence and mineralogy of the elements, with a focus on structural features observed in compounds described in later chapters. The majority of the chapters is organized by the oxidation state of the elements, Ln(0), Ln(II), Ln(III), and Ln(IV). Within this organization the chapters are further distinguished by type of compound, inorganic (oxides and hydroxides, aqueous speciation, halides, alkoxides, amides and thiolates, and chelates) and organometallic. Concluding chapters deal with diverse and critically important applications of the lanthanoids in electronic and magnetic materials, and medical imaging.
