Splatters of the Heart is a collection of poems written while I was in an emotionally and financially abusive place. The environment was toxic and operated like a church. Some of the poems written capture my feelings while I was there and some are a reflection of my experiences after I left. Writing poetry has always been an effective coping mechanism that I’ve used to express feelings of love and dissolve feelings of anger and confusion.
