The Southworth Ferry Terminal Access Study was undertaken to examine short and long-range access plans for the Southworth ferry terminal and to examine the impacts of future land-use plans in the terminal vicinity. There are a number of related issues that created the need for this study. The most significant issue is the possibility of implementlng passenger-only ferry service between Southworth and Downtown Seattle. This issue is currently being examined by the Washington State Legislature. Another issue before the state legislature is switching the state highway designation from the existing SR 160 to Sedgwick Road. --Study background
