He was a descendant of one John Robbins, a Revolutionary War soldier who married Elizabeth Curtis ca. 1762 in North Carolina. Edwin married Sarah Alice Charles 17 September 1875. They lived in Indiana and were the parents of nine children. Descendants lived in Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, Minnesota and elsewhere.
