The State of the World's Land and Water Resources for Food and Agriculture is FAO's first flagship publication on the global status of land and water resources. Soils are neither good nor bad, but some have inherent or acquired characteristics that may or may not suit our intended use. By setting out these technical and policy recommendations, they provide guidance to all stakeholders on how sustainable soil management can be achieved.
