Book Description
Sixty-Two Days to Eternity is a story of a retired shipyard worker who is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. He is given two months to live. The two main characters are Aaron Zachary and a talking cat named Harvey that is addicted to Land O’Lakes cheese and has an IQ of 162. Harvey is also a male chauvinist feline. The story reveals how the two of them take care of each other. They literally depend upon each other. While Aaron tends to Harvey’s physical needs, like food, water, shelter, warmth, medical care, and a clean litter box, Harvey is the force that directs Aaron in his quest for his life’s spiritual and physical truth. The writing deals with the heartache and depression of a man who has been given a two-month death sentence. It reveals how the world of doctors and hospitals put roadblocks in his way. To make matters worse, the insurance companies put up their own roadblocks. Aaron soon discovers that the medical world and insurance companies are huge oligopolies of mismanagement, corruption, ineptness, greed, and incompetence. Harvey has told him this all along, but Aaron must discover the truth for himself. Fearing that he might go into eternity lost, he begins to seek some sort of spiritual salvation. He has one disappointment after another. Harvey guides and directs Aaron along his way. Harvey’s mission on earth is to show Aaron the way by giving him hints, direction, and encouragement. Harvey fully realizes that Aaron must find his own way in the end. The story is humorous, tear-jerking, and full of love and reveals a special alliance and dependence between a man and his cat. They take care of each other. They love each other. While Aaron fulfills Harvey’s needs, it’s evident that Harvey is the head of household as he walks Aaron through his death sentence and his spiritual quest.

You Are the Messiah!
Author: Brock Laborde
Publisher: Studio 8 Comedy
ISBN: 145026896X
Category : Humor
Languages : en
Pages : 233
Book Description
Journey back in time to the faraway Biblical land of Palestine in thirty-something A.D. Experience the greatest story ever told from a unique perspective in this religious parody of a children's game book for adults. In You Are the Messiah!, take a humorous and irreverent journey through the life of Jesus Christ the lives he touches, the miracles he executes, and the roads he travels during the most tumultuous period of his life from the clumsy beginning of his ministry, to the development of his fabled miracle-working powers, and ultimately, to his tortured sacrifice on the cross as he struggles with becoming humanity's unlucky savior. Turn the page, but watch out. The choices made at the end of each plot point can either further the story along the correct path, lead to crazy side stories, or end in a comically brutal death or much worse. Along the way, you'll get the chance to answer one age-old question: What should Jesus do?

The National Review
Biblical Eschatology, Second Edition
Author: Jonathan Menn
Publisher: Wipf and Stock Publishers
ISBN: 1532643179
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 623
Book Description
Biblical Eschatology provides what is not found in any other single volume on eschatology: it analyzes all the major eschatological passages (including the Olivet Discourse and the book of Revelation), issues (including the second coming of Christ, the millennium, the rapture, and Antichrist), and positions (including all the major views of the millennium) in a clear, but not superficial, way. The book concludes with a chapter showing how eschatology is relevant for our lives. Biblical Eschatology makes understanding eschatology easier by including chapters on how to interpret prophecy and apocalyptic literature, by showing the history of eschatological thought, and by placing eschatology in the context of the Bible’s overall story line and structure. Clarity and understanding are enhanced by the use of comparative tables and appendices. Subject and Scripture indexes are included. The book interacts with the best of Evangelical and Reformed scholarship, and the extensive bibliography (which includes the web addresses of many online resources) provides an excellent source for the reader’s further study. This is a perfect resource for intelligent Christians, including pastors, students, and teachers, who desire to understand eschatology and to see how it fits together with the rest of the Bible.
