A number of problems in asymmetric elasticity are solved, such as torsion in round and semiround solid beams, in a beam of heterogeneous material, also flexure and torsion in an infinite plate. Torsion in a round beam is analyzed in a system of formulas for cylindrical coordinates, vectors of particle displacement, for distorsion tensors, components of force and stress moment tensors. Certain stress components and constants are found to be inconsistent with expressions in the classical theory of elasticity. Torsion in a hollow cylindrical beam is analyzed, also in solid and in hollow beams of heterogeneous material. The Cosser continuum equation in rectangular coordinates is applied in developing a formula for coincident distortion. Torsion in long thin plates fixed along one edge is analyzed, and rigidity constants determined experimentally.
