Mayor Blodgett called the Council to order at o'clock. After hearing the records read by City Clerk Daniell, the retiring mayor spoke of his appreciation of the kindness and courtesy extended during his term, for his indebtedness especially to the city clerk for valuable assistance rendered, and said that he should long 160k back with pleasure upon the year's work just closed. While he was pleased to retire from office he also regretted the termination of the very pleasant relations' between himself and the council and city officers, to whom he first came as an acquaintance and with whom he parted as a friend. Mayor Blodgett then announced that the council for 1904: was indefinitely adjourned. He administered the oath of office to mayor-elect George E. Shepard and to councilmen-elect Peter Dana, Milton B. Neal, Hector Morin and Harry E. Davis. The new council was called to order and Mayor Shepard spoke as follows.
