Pages : 98

Book Description
The theory is described and the equations required to design are developed and the performance of electro-optical sensor systems that operate from the visible through the thermal infrared spectral regions are analyzed. Methods to compute essential optical and detector parameters, signal-to-noise ratio, MTF, and figures of merit such as NE delta rho and NE delta T are developed. A set of atmospheric tables are provided to determine scene radiance in the visible spectral region. The Planck function is used to determine radiance in the infrared. The equations developed were incorporated in a spreadsheet so that a wide variety of sensor studies can be rapidly and efficiently conducted. Montgomery, H. E. and Ostrow, H. and Ressler, G. M. Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 9811908591
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 218

Book Description
This book deals with analysis techniques for TCP, UDP, Web, and SOAP data transmission performance on the IoT cloud side, CSMA-type, and multi-hop data transmission performance on the IoT edge side, as well as gateway receives buffer and transmit packet assembly data transmission performance. As mathematical tools for the analysis of communication performance, universal analysis methods such as stochastic processes, queues, Markov processes, and communication traffic simulators are applied to actual examples, and their usage is described in detail. This book aims to provide lifelong skills for analyzing communication performance that will serve as the basis for the future evolution of the IoT.

Multi Sensor Suite Performance Analysis for Target Detection and Classification. Phase 1

Languages : en
Pages : 52

Book Description
Sensors and sensor systems are evaluated during a U.S. Army Missile Command Phase I SBIR effort to investigate the feasibility of utilizing multiple sensors to provide complimentary information to support sensor fusion concepts for the purpose of performing target classification and identification. This report investigates the performance of sensors while operating in a multisensor suite configuration and utilizes the results of this analysis in the development of design requirements for implementing a state-of-the-art sensor fusion system.

Sensor Area Coverage

Sensor Area Coverage PDF Author: Ali Rezaeian

Languages : en
Pages : 240

Book Description
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have been employed in numerous military and civilian applications. Some application areas are in battlefield, surveillance, biological detection, and environmental monitoring. A major challenge to such applications is the sensor area-coverage (SAC), which refers to the techniques and mechanisms of placing sensors and their coordination in a mission space (field) to monitor the physical environment in such a way to achieve the application coverage objectives. This book describes the development of a sensor area coverage package (SACPac) that simulates some selected coverage algorithms and their enhancements, and analyzes their performance parameters under various scenarios. The performance parameters considered include coverage ratio, resiliency of the field coverage against sensor failures, energy efficiency, and security of communication among sensors. The book also describes the development of a prototype of communication for sending the position of an object via a mobile device to the server on which SACPac runs, so that the object trajectory can be displayed. SACPac is under continuous enhancement to improve the simulation experience.
