Book Description
We report on a search for B0s → ?+ ?- and B0d → mu+mu- decays in p anti-p collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV using 364.4 pb -1 of data collected by the CDF II dectector at Fermilab Tevatron Collider. After applying all selection requirements, we observe no candidates inside the B0s or B0d mass windows. The resulting upper limits on the branching fractions are ?(B0s → ?+?-) 1.5 x 10sup-7/sup and ?(B0subd/sub → ?+?-) 3.9 x 10

Book Description
The authors report on a search for B{sub s}{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -} and B{sub d}{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -} decays in p{bar p} collisions at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV using 171 pb{sup -1} of data collected by the CDF II experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The decay rates of these rare processes are sensitive to contributions from physics beyond the Standard Model. One event survives all the selection requirements, consistent with the background expectation. They derive branching ratio limits of {Beta}(B{sub s}{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -})

Book Description
A search for the rare decays of B$^0$$_s$→ [mu]+ [mu]- and B$^0$$_d$ → + [mu]+ [mu]- is presented in p$\bar{p}$ collisions at √s=1.96 TeV corresponding to 10 fb-1 of integrated luminosity collected by the CDF II detector. The observed number of B$^0$$_d$ candidates is consistent with background-only expectations and yields an upper limit on the branching fraction B(B$^0$$_d$ → [mu]+ [mu]-) of 4.2 x 10-9 at 95% confidence level. An excess is observed for the B0s signal region. The probability that background processes alone could produce such an excess or larger is 0.94%. The probability that the combination of background and the expected standard model rate B$^0$$_s$ → [mu]+ [mu]- could produce such an excess or larger is 6.8%. These data are used to determine a central value of B(B$^0$$_s$ → [mu]+ [mu]-) = (1:3+0.9 -0.7) 10-8 as well as a two sided limit at 90% C.L. of 2:2 10-9
