The students of the United States require 21st century skills to remain marketable, employable, and productive citizens. With changing educational policy and decreased funding, how will society continue to meet the needs of 21st century learners? Educational leaders and researchers suggest that partnering with community stakeholders could be a solution. The purpose of this research study was to describe the school-based agricultural education program supporters in the Northwest and agriculture teachers' views of supporter involvement. Survey research methods guided the data collection. The researcher identified groups of supporters and the roles that they had in an agriculture program. Further, it was found that teachers view supporters as beneficial partners. Time was identified as a major barrier to further collaboration. The researcher recommended that professional development be offered for practicing teachers and that future research expand the line of inquiry on community-school-based agricultural education partnerships.

Recent calls for students with disabilities to meet the same rigorous testing standards as their general education peers have created cause for concern amongst education professionals in Florida. Agriculture teachers have reported limited confidence in their abilities to provide effective strategies and resources to students with disabilities in school-based agricultural education programs. This study explored the effective inclusion of students with disabilities in school-based agricultural education programs from agriculture teacher, ESE specialist, and school administrator participants who were selected based on known positive interactions between professionals. Data were collected through interviews with nine participants from three schools. The participants provided insight into effective relationships, clear roles and responsibilities, challenges in the inclusion of students with disabilities, needs of students, needs of teachers, and the benefits of school-based agricultural education for students with disabilities. Examples of ways that agriculture teachers, ESE specialists, and school administrators can collaborate in order to promote effective inclusion of students with disabilities in school-based agricultural education programs are provided.

This three-article dissertation examined the perceptions of school-based agricultural education teachers in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama on self-efficacy and professional development activities since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first article was an examination of teacher self-efficacy in delivering instruction in three classroom settings: face-to-face, remote, and hybrid, which is a combination of face-to-face and remote simultaneous instruction. The second was a descriptive study of teacher experiences and perceptions of professional development activities related to instructional technology over the past two years. The third article examines the correlation between each of the teacher self-efficacy instructional setting constructs and perceptions of professional development experiences. The last chapter ties the three research articles together, concluding that teacher self-efficacy is stronger in face-to-face instruction and weakest in remote instruction. Key areas of low efficacy are in managing the hands-on components of an SBAE program, such as managing an agricultural mechanics laboratory and a greenhouse. When teachers receive follow-up and individual feedback from professional development leaders, higher self-efficacy is possible.
