Self/Same/Other

Self/Same/Other PDF Author: Heather Walton
Publisher: A&C Black
ISBN: 9781841270197
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 226

Book Description
This collection of essays explores the way our notions of self, other, subjectivity, gender and the sacred text are being re-visioned within contemporary theory. These new ways of conceiving create upheavals and radical shifts that rework our understanding of philosophical, psychological, political, sexual and spiritual identity, allowing us to trace the fault lines, regulatory forces, exclusions and unmarked spaces both within our selves, and within the discourses that attend these selves. As such, revisionings break down borders, and the encounter of literature and theology becomes a crucial focus for these explorations, as the self learns to resituate its own being creatively vis-a-vis others and, ultimately, the Other.

Self-same Songs

Self-same Songs PDF Author: Roger J. Porter
Publisher: U of Nebraska Press
ISBN: 9780803287679
Category : Literary Criticism
Languages : en
Pages : 306

Book Description
Self-Same Songs constitutes a major contribution to the growing literary study of autobiography. Using a range of authors, including Homer, Edward Gibbon, Benjamin Franklin, Somerset Maugham, Franz Kafka, and Eug_ne Delacroix, Roger J. Porter offers a broad-based examination of the autobiography and the varied techniques used by its practitioners over time. In a style that is both graceful and erudite, Porter focuses on the diverse motivations and rhetorical functions that the act of self-writing serves for particular writers. He reflects on the texts not only as an exploration of self-identity but also as the writers' attempts to modify the life in the act of writing about it. Then, stepping out of his critical role, Porter ends each chapter with an autobiographical discussion of his professional and personal engagement with the autobiographer under discussion, creating an intriguing and absorbing literary autobiography within the critical text.

HITLER: do you self-identify the same as Hitler? SOCIALIST - S means SOCIALISM.

HITLER: do you self-identify the same as Hitler? SOCIALIST - S means SOCIALISM. PDF Author: Christina Antioch
Publisher: No Pledge Publishing
ISBN:
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 656

Book Description
Almost everyone (including every "scholar") refers to Hitler as "Nazi" or "Fascist" and not "Socialist." Educational Outreach Programs (EOPs) inspired by Dr. Rex Curry's work are the only services that inform ignorant scholars that "Hitler self-identified as Socialist. He did not self-identify as Nazi, nor as Fascist". No one else provides this vital public awareness. So, if you ever see a sentence like the following one then you know it was from EOPs for Dr. Curry's work: "Hitler didn't call himself Nazi or Fascist, he called himself socialist". The linguistic EOPs above led to many amazing historical discoveries, including revelations about Anne Frank’s Diary; Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf”; Sophie Scholl’s White Rose group; Joseph Goebbels’ “Der Nazi Sozi”; Martin Niemoller’s verse “First They Came For the Socialists”; the swastika symbol; the hexagram (Star of David); and much more! Except for the American Historian Laureate Dr. Rex Curry, every other historian did not see how the USA’s Pledge of Allegiance led to Nazi salutes and Nazi behavior; and how the original pledge’s use of the military salute led to the Nazi salute. Also, historians did not see the similar symbolism of Adolf Hitler's NSV, SA, and SS logos, as compared with the logo of Hitler's party: the National Socialist German Workers Party. Even today, only exceptional scholars with extraordinary skills (e.g. Dr. Curry) are able to discern the “S”-letter shape of the NSV’s logo (The National Socialist People's Welfare; in German: Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt). The "S" symbolism is almost as difficult to perceive as in Hitler’s Hakenkreuz (hooked cross). It is as undetectable as in the symbols for the SS and SA (Schutzstaffel and Sturmabteilung). All historians did not see (other than Dr. Curry) how Hitler used his party's symbol to represent "S"-letter shapes for "SOCIALIST." Do you not see? Professor Curry transformed the culture of India along with Hinduism and Buddhism. Before Dr. Curry’s discoveries, Buddhists and Hindus published complaints that “Hitler stole their swastika symbol and ruined it and they want to restore respect for their ancient symbol.” Educational Outreach Programs (EOP) about Dr. Curry’s work taught India’s commentators that Hitler’s symbol was not a swastika, and that Hitler never called it a swastika. An upheaval occurred among Buddhists and Hindus in their objections. Now they proudly assert: “Hitler called his symbol a Hakenkreuz (hooked cross), not a swastika. It was not the same symbol. Dr. Curry told us!”

Self and Neighbour, Same and Other

Self and Neighbour, Same and Other PDF Author: Richard J. McQueen
Publisher: Lulu.com
ISBN: 1446605116
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 354

Book Description
The subject of Self Neighbour, Same and Other, based on the research topics conducted by Fernand D'Amico and Jacques Wisman, is proposed in this book as a themed walk through the passages of Scripture from the Old and New Testament. The biblical text (KJV) is presented deliberately devoid of additional comments to offer an immediate and direct perception of the selected track. The thematic reading of the biblical text opens to the reader as a fascinating experience that allows him to benefit in a short time, a surprising and rich picture of content. In the Scriptures the dialectic between the "self" and the "other" is mediated by multiple instances subjective and objective that are not always linked to a classical rationality. Through the reading of the proposed pieces may be found deep associations of content and images that can surprisingly improve our social life
