Because of You Old Glory Flies

Because of You Old Glory Flies PDF Author: Julie Dueker
Publisher: WestBow Press
ISBN: 1973664577
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 32

Book Description
Because of You Old Glory Flies is a collection of heartfelt poems and illustrations to say thank you to all who have served, or currently serve in the United States military. In creating this book, Julie Dueker and Ray “Bubba” Sorensen II, a.k.a. The Freedom Rock Painter, have combined their unique talents and passions for God and country to show America’s heroes we are forever in their debt. They pray this book touches the hearts and lives of those who open it and share it. “I’m impressed with Julie’s work to capture the essence of hero. There are heroes all around us and some we would never know served in our nation’s military to defend the rights and privileges that we hold dear. We can never repay them enough for all that they and their families have given to the rest of us. Many are in cemeteries across our land and overseas. Some didn’t return at all. Others live quietly in our communities continuing to give of themselves for the good of others. America’s greatness lies on the backs of our veterans and those who serve today. They have fought and died for us. I believe Julie’s works depict that very well.” –Colonel Robert C. King (Ret)

"Terrible Tuesday is Wonderfully Expressive . . . displays a unique perspective and original creativity . . ." -Managing Editor, Poetry.Com and International Library of Poetry "This collection of poems by Patti Tucker reflects a woman full of love for God, family, friends, and it exudes patriotism for her country. These wonderful poems touch one's heart in many different ways, because they inspire personal memories of those special relationships and experiences in all of our lives. I found it to be exceptionally inspirational." -Congressman Ron Lewis (Retired) 2nd District, Kentucky "As servicemen and parishioners we observed Patti Tucker's love for God and Country and now we get to drink from the fountain that produced such love-Her heart. We are blessed that Patti Tucker shared these writings and thankful that there is no contradiction between the smooth rhythm of her words and the spiritual way of her walk." -Chaplain (Colonel) Carl Young US Army "If you don't know Patti Tucker before reading this book, you certainly will come to know and appreciate her by the end. You'll also come to appreciate her Uncle Ralph, dog Rusty and dozens of others whom she cherishes. This book is a breezy, fun read." -Ben Sheroan Editor, The News-Enterprise Salute is a collection of moving and personal memories of a military spouse about her faith, family, life as an Army wife, and the many friends she made along the way. This collection is heartwarming and expresses the values of a true patriotic American woman. One of the most moving offerings, "Terrible Tuesday," superbly captures how our nation and all Americans felt after the events in New York City, at the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001.

A Salute to Our Veterans

A Salute to Our Veterans PDF Author: Irene J. Dumas
Publisher: Trafford Publishing
ISBN: 1490716475
Category : History
Languages : en
Pages : 147

Book Description
A Salute To Our Veterans is about war stories never told before, compiled and documented from 35 United States Military Veterans that served in the military during World War One, World War Two, the Koren War, the Vietnam War, and the Gulf War. They also served during the Cuban Crises, Grenada Crises, Desert Storm and Desert Shield, in Lebanon, Afghanistan and the Iraq War, etc. All the veterans in the book have been interview by me, except the last five in the book that are deceased. The last five veterans in the book are family members of our friends or relatives that asked me to include them in the book, they gave me the information about them. I tried to stick to the veterans stories, but after interviewing them, and researching where they had served and visualizing them there, I felt it would be interesting to the reader to also tell about some of the battles that they serve during. I also included some veterans that didn't have to go to the battlefront, their assignments were at home in support of the fighting troops. The stories in this book mark the period from 1918, WW I and continue through to 2007. This book has thirty-four veterans in it, and tells about what they did in the military for our country.

A Gift from the Heart

A Gift from the Heart PDF Author: Mary Greeley
Publisher: AuthorHouse
ISBN: 1425964001
Category : Poetry
Languages : en
Pages : 149

Book Description
In America, we have so many freedoms that we daily take for granted. We go about our days, never thinking of those men and women who serve in our military. We never think of the sacrifices they make for us or that their families make for us. Unless you are familiar with a member of the military, you may not understand just how much they give. After a war, or even during one, military personnel and their families do their best to make sure that those freedoms stay in place. Time together is often sacrificed for training missions or when orders come through, for their services away from family. Bravely, they step forward and follow orders they receive. They do their duty, with honor and with the courage they each have, to make sure that we who live here and the generations to come, may have the same freedoms they grew up with and enjoyed. It is simply their daily gift to us. This book not only shares what life is like in many ways for those who have ever served, but it is also a way to say thank you. We owe them all so much, and hopefully this book will lovingly explain why their simple gift to all of us is given so freely.

Book Description
This book was written in honor of all Veterans and their families. It contains a series of true inspirational poetic stories about our Veterans who served during World War II. It was important to write about their lives in the military now because this great generation of folks is slowly fading away. I vow to continue to write poetic stories about our American Heroes because they are so inspirational and they deserve to be revered. It is also important that these stories be passed on to our children and grandchildren. They are all based on live interviews. May they touch you heart as much as they touched mine. Sincerely, John Michael Domino
