Even before Tryoon's ruthless suppression 1of the Regulators, many people were pressing westward. Missionaries from the Sandy Creek Association came into these areas quite early. In two years this church grew to a member ship of 104. Then the group that organized this church moved on 100 miles southward and established a work at Fair Forest near the pres ent town of Union, South Carolina.
