Book Description
We all ride the white line, whether on a bicycle or in daily life. To our left is the smooth pavement where traffic is heavy, speed is up, and people are in a hurry. To our right is the shoulder which, while safer and slower, is often littered with gravel, broken glass, and the occasional pothole. Most of us choose to ride a white line existence: in the flow of traffic but within easy reach of the cluttered shoulder. Along the way, we are affected by and also impact the pedestrians of life that we meet and interact with. With several long distance fund raising bicycle trips as a backdrop, Mick speaks to some of the positive values in life. Through the pedestrians he meets and the values they live out, Mick explores some of these values. Pedaling along the white line of life, while dangerous, is also rewarding. Certainly the pedestrians one meets are worth every revolution.

Riding the White Line

Riding the White Line PDF Author: Jeffrey A. Wood
Publisher:
ISBN: 9781434349682
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 128

Book Description
This book was written in an attempt to show people how to witness in order to win souls for Christ, without being crude and intimidating. It is important that the souls that we are trying to win see the hope of their salvation. The grace of God is so magnificent that it will usually invite repentance. The Bible states that the Word of God is of no private interpretation and that salvation is free to all. Being afraid of going to hell is not a good enough reason for wanting to be saved. As a matter of fact, it is a pretty poor one. God wants us to serve Him in Spirit and in truth, simply because we love Him. He knows the intent of our hearts, yet, He has given us free will. We will never have true joy and peace if the only reason that we are in church is to avoid going to hell. Attendance without dedication is merely works; which according to the book of James mean nothing without faith. An effective witness will have a testimony of his or her own to share with their subject, thus, presenting a glorious invitation to the family of God. I feel that the methodology addressed in this book will be as effective to the one who is doing the witnessing, as it will be to the one who will be receiving the witness. Not everyone will have an ear to hear, so, tell those who will listen.

He wanted to see what other people did every day as he sat at his desk. In A Bike across America, he narrates the story of his thirty-five day, 3,461-mile journey that began April 27, 2013, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and ended in Newport, Oregon. This travelogue shares Ritter's thoughts, expectations, and surprises--battling the weather, equipment failures, and his doubts and fears, and being assisted by kind-hearted strangers. With some history and geography included, Ritter tells how this cross-country ride changed his life. Frank and honest, A Bike across America recounts Ritter's ultimate road trip--one that taught this fifty-year-old empty nester that through perseverance and determination, it could be done.
