Since the inception of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons, ESCAP has been conducting reviews of the progress in achieving the goals of the Decade, in particular, the implementation of the Agenda for Action. The Decade of Disabled Persons will end in December 2002 and a regional exercise to measure achievements has begun. In assessing its achievements, there is a need to look and see what changes have taken place in the lives of people with disabilities in the Asian and Pacific region. This publication contains case studies that reflect the achievements of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Disabled Persons.
