Revenge of the Birds - Sequel to Return of the Birds *****NEW RELEASE***** Award: “Award Finalist in the Suspense/Thriller category of the 2019 American Fiction Awards” They thought all the birds died out. They thought they had eradicated the disease. They thought everyone was safe. They thought wrong. Just when you thought it was safe to search the skies after Return of the Birds, Moore writes the sequel to his frightening tale, and he is not holding any punches. The diseased birds are back with a vengeance. Can they stop the deadly virus in time, or will it spread throughout the world? With a faulty antivirus, and problems with patients already treated, this race against time will have you turning the page almost faster than you can read it. Revenge can be deadly. A discussion with the author: Return of the Birds and Revenge of the Birds are very distinctive from your other books, why did you write them? I was always intrigued by the movie “The Birds” but felt too many questions were left unanswered. It niggled at me all my life, especially every time I watched the movie. I had to write the next chapters to the original story. Do you answer all the questions from the movie “The Birds?” Most of the questions get addressed, but in so doing more questions and concerns arise. There remains a good deal of suspense throughout the book and beyond. It resulted in me writing the sequel, Revenge of the Birds. Why do readers enjoy these books? If they love a classic cliffhanger or good thrillers they enjoy these books. They are longer than the short stories they were inspired by, but then both novels have extra twists and turns that add to the storyline and keep the suspense flowing.

Assembly and its Other in German Romantic Literature and Thought

Assembly and its Other in German Romantic Literature and Thought PDF Author: Robert E. Mottram
Publisher: Liverpool University Press
ISBN: 1802079076
Category : Literary Criticism
Languages : en
Pages : 224

Book Description
This collection of essays turns on a shift in Romantic studies from viewing wholeness as an absolute value to critiquing it as a limiting construction. Wholeness and its concomitant sense of harmony, rather than a natural given, is a construct that was assembled and disassembled, theorized and criticized, by diverse authors and artists in a wide variety of disciplines and socio-historical contexts, and instrumentalized for diverse purposes. The plurality of these constructions – that Goethe’s Urpflanze, for example, is not synonymous with Friedrich Schlegel’s universal progressive poetry – is but one manifestation of how “assembly” strives but fails to be absolute. The “other” of assembly referenced in the title suggests two divergent but inseparable tendencies: firstly, how a construction can take on the appearance of a natural given; and secondly, how assemblages of wholeness harbor within themselves their own principle of disarticulation. These two tendencies underlie the “inexhaustible” character of Romantic “gatherings”. As a construction passes itself off as nature, the natural fails to account for itself as a whole. The scope of this volume encompasses the establishment, mapping, and interrogation of assembly and its other in German Romanticism through interdisciplinary studies on literature, aesthetics, philosophy, drama, music, synaesthesia, mathematics, science, and exploration. List of contributors: Beate Allert, Frederick Burwick, Alexis B. Smith, Margaret Strair, Christina Weiler, Joshua Wilner.

In the middle of the last century, in a small remote town lost in the foothills of the magnificent Caucasus Mountains, the local children raid their neighbours’ fruit orchards during the summer holidays. The best apples for Pasha, the nine-year old boy, are behind the impenetrable fence of the Glumins, a weird Old-Believer couple who live next door, and in the orchard of a wicked neighbour, Bullin. Bullin is a cruel man who inflicts suffering on animals and deserves to be punished. There are plenty of other orchards where the children of River End Street can satisfy their fruit hunger. The cherries of the old couple living by the riverbank can be reached by climbing up the fence, and it is possible to get away unnoticed. Or is it? Fruit adventures are risky and some end up in near disaster. There are scary stories about fruit thieves who are cruelly punished. Yet Pasha absolutely had to steal some of his neighbours’ tantalising apples. He tried and ended up being caught. But what would the punishment be?
