Compressive Strength of Concrete

Compressive Strength of Concrete PDF Author: Pavel Krivenko
Publisher: BoD – Books on Demand
ISBN: 1789855675
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 166

Book Description
Concrete made using mineral cements, the raw materials which on earth are practically endless, is known as one of the oldest building materials and during the last decades of the twentieth century has become a dominant building material for general use. At the same time, the requirements of the quality of concrete and its performance properties, in particular compressive strength, durability, economical efficiency, and low negative impact of its manufacture on the environment have not yet been completely met. Bearing these requirements in mind, researchers and engineers worldwide are working on how to satisfy these requirements. This book has been written by researchers and experts in the field and provides the state of the art on recent progress achieved on the properties of concrete, including concrete in which industrial by-products are utilized. The book is dedicated to graduate students, researchers, and practicing engineers in related fields.

Mechanical Properties of High-strength Concrete

Mechanical Properties of High-strength Concrete PDF Author: Alireza Mokhtarzadeh

Category : Concrete
Languages : en
Pages : 622

Book Description
Researchers conducted an experimental program to investigate production techniques and mechanical properties of high-strength concrete and to provide recommendations for using these concretes in manufacturing precast/prestressed bridge girders. High-strength concretes with 28-day compressive strengths in the range of 8,000 to 18,600 psi (55.2 to 128 MPa) were produced. The study also investigated the effects of test parameters such as mold size, mold material, and end condition. More than 6,300 specimens were cast from approximately 140 mixes over a period of three years.

Coal Combustion Byproducts

Coal Combustion Byproducts PDF Author: United States. Congress. House. Committee on Small Business. Subcommittee on Rural Development, Entrepreneurship, and Trade
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 204

Book Description
"The subcommittee has called this hearing so that members might learn more about coal ash, the small businesses that turn coal ash into useful products and the concerns that these businesses have about the proposed Federal regulations that they believe may have a negative effect on their industry ... The EPA has recently issued two proposals for regulating coal ash. One would regulate coal ash as a solid waste and would provide very limited Federal enforceability and may not provide adequate protection of the environment and human health. The other would list coal ash as a special waste under the Hazardous Waste Subtitle in the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Subtitle C. The second option is one that we will focus on ... since it has generated great concerns among small businesses across this country. These businesses, many of which are represented here today, have reason to believe that regulating coal ash under Subtitle C, even as a special waste, will open recycling operations to added litigation and a stigma that will discourage the ... use of the products made with recycled coal ash."--P. 1-2.
