Ocean dumping research conducted during 1984-1985 was reviewed at a workshopheld at the Institute of Ocean Sciences. RODAC-funded studies presentedat the workshop include partitioning of cadmium and lead from contaminatedsediments, effects of wood wastes on benthic recruitment, evaluation ofmicro-organisms for assessing toxicity and bio-availability of contaminantsfrom dredge-spoils, a review of the national quality assurance programme, theThreefold path in environmental management research, national ocean dumpingresearch strategy, and dredged-material disposal in Puget Sound.
