Previous studies, mostly conducted in developed countries, have demonstrated a positive relationship between employee corporate social responsibility (CSR) attitudes and both job satisfaction (JS) and organisational commitment (OC). The present research aims to investigate the nature of the aforementioned relationship in a developing contextual environment, Bangladesh. The Bangladesh central bank has taken a number of initiatives to promote CSR in the banking sector, which have influenced both Islamic banks (IBs) and conventional banks (CBs). With the growth of IBs in Bangladesh and with their increased participation in CSR initiatives, it is apparent that IBs are involved in additional CSR activities, in comparison to their conventional counterparts, possible influenced by the religious values of these banks. The current study addresses a key research question: 'what is the relationship between employee CSR attitudes, and JS and OC in an Islamic bank and a conventional bank in Bangladesh'? Social identity theory and value congruence theory are used to explain employee CSR attitudes and their behavioural outcomes.

Abstract: A growing number of studies has investigated the multiple dimensions of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); however, very few have studied its effect on organizational commitment, especially in a country as Egypt. This research examines the relationship between employees' perceptions of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and organizational commitment within a model that draws on Social Identity Theory (SIT). The analysis is based on a sample of 326 employees from different companies in Egypt. The results emphasize that there is a positive correlation between employee's perceptions of CSR importance and organizational commitment via a mediating factor, which is satisfaction with CSR activities and programs. It builds upon the SIT which explains the desire of employees to be identified with an entity they are proud of and perceive as a good corporate citizen. This research should act as a guideline for corporations to determine the significance of adding CSR in their mission and vision statements and work to live by these standards in order to maintain the organizational commitment of their respective employees.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has gained increasing attention and popularity since the last decade. There are many CSR debates arise since then. These debates were shaped by trends and fundamental changes of the political, social, and economic spheres of life. Tracing back, the precursor to CSR was topic of charitable giving, which had been in existence since 1980s. Todate, CSR has evolved to a business concept that had been accepted widely. Business corporations are focusing on CSR due to tremendous pressures from society. Presently, CSR approach has emerged from focusing on the shareholders to stakeholders due to the acknowledgement of the crucial roles of stakeholders in every organisation.Stakeholder management and CSR is a relational affair. Stakeholder theory involves a list of critical stakeholders namely employees, suppliers, customers, media, local communities, NGOs, that could be a source of new competitive advantage. This presents a research agenda to look into internal CSR practices as to how it manifests among the crucial stakeholders of every organisation, i.e. the employees, on their attitudes and behaviours. As Small Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) are gaining its foothold in Malaysia, they also encountered many challenges, one of these is the issue of high employee turnover that lead to substantial costs to the organisations. The findings reveal that internal CSR practices enhanced employee's job satisfaction and also resulted in the reduction of employee's turnover intention. It was interesting to discover that internal CSR practices enhance employee's organisational commitment like job satisfaction, but it failed to reduce employee's turnover intention through enhanced organisation commitment as a result of internal CSR practices. The results also show that perceived ease of movement has an impact on employee's turnover intention.
