Allocating Health Care Resources

Allocating Health Care Resources PDF Author: James M. Humber
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 1592594476
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 222

Book Description
In ALLOCATING HEALTH CARE RESOURCES, leading authorities and researchers expose the basic philosophical, ethical, and economic issues underlying the current health care debate. The contributors wrestle with such complicated issues as whether it is ethical to ration health care, the morality of the worldwide bias against children in allocating health care resources, whether sin taxes can be defended morally, and how to achieve a just health care system. The book also includes an insightful analysis of the Clinton health care reform plan. ALLOCATING HEALTH CARE RESOURCES will be of interest to philosophers, health policy experts, medical ethicists, health professionals, and concerned citizens. It serves to clarify and illuminate the logic and rhetoric of health care reform, and so to help us all achieve a fair and equitable distribution of these precious resources.

Health Policy in Regional Organizations. A Driver for More Integration in West Africa?

Health Policy in Regional Organizations. A Driver for More Integration in West Africa? PDF Author: Anna-Lena Prüser

Pages : 25

Book Description
Seminar paper from the year 2018 in the subject Politics - Region: Africa, grade: 1,0, Leuphana Universität Lüneburg, language: English, abstract: As history tells us, economic development is typically identified as the driver of regional integration. Efforts to bring countries in one region together have been going on for several decades and both, experience and theory, encourage the potential of economic development for regional cooperation. The European Union is the prime example: the establishment of the European Coal and Steel Community in 1952 was the basis for a common market for these resources and this idea of free movement was transferred to all goods, services, capital and labour in the subsequent decades. Parallel to that, the development of global regimes, such as the World Trade Organizations’ legal framework, stimulated developing countries to form their own regional organizations in order to keep up with trade liberalization.
