Principles of Polarography

Principles of Polarography PDF Author: Jaroslav Heyrovský
Publisher: Elsevier
ISBN: 1483264785
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 582

Book Description
Principles of Polarography is a revised and extended version of an original Czech edition that appeared in 1962 at the Publishing House of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in Prague. Based on a one-term course of lectures for third-year students of chemistry at the Charles University it brings the fundamental results of more than forty years' research in the field of polarography. The book contains 22 chapters and opens with a discussion of the principles of polarography. This is followed by separate chapters on polarizable electrodes used in polarography; charging current; influence of the resistance of the electrolyte on polarographic curves; migration and diffusion-controlled currents; and equation of a reversible polarographic wave. Subsequent chapters deal with reversible processes controlled by diffusion of complex ions; reversible reduction of organic substances; deposition of mercury ions; irreversible electrode processes; applications of limiting currents; polarographic curves for the formation of semiquinones and dimers; and catalytic hydrogen currents.

Medical Electronic Laboratory Equipment 1967-68 PDF Author: G. W. A. Dummer
Publisher: Elsevier
ISBN: 1483194825
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 1320

Book Description
Medical Electronic Laboratory Equipment 1967-68 provides information of a comprehensive range of electronic and nucleonic equipment for use in laboratories concerned with all branches of medical research. This book covers a variety of topics, including amplifiers, computers, chromatographs, gamma encephalographs, display systems, kidney function systems, scintillation cameras, and ultrasonic equipment. Organized into 10 chapters, this book begins with an overview of a wide-section of the equipment available in the specialized field. This text then provides general descriptive data of equipment with considerable operating and applications information. Other chapters consider a large number of illustrations showing equipment in use, as well as the case histories, analyses, and references. This book presents as well data from Europe, United States, and Japan that are useful as a practical guide and manual by all concerned with the acquisition, assessment, and use of electronic equipment for medical research. This book is a valuable resource for readers interested in acquiring medical electronics equipment.

Topics In Organic Polarography

Topics In Organic Polarography PDF Author: P. Zuman
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 1468418122
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 533

Book Description
Even though the nwnber of requests for reprints and the number of quotations in the Science Citation Index has indicated an ever-increasing interest in topics of organic polarography, I have often felt that the reason that some work is less known may well be because the papers were published in less accessible journals. Therefore, I was pleased when I was asked to prepare a selection of my papers on organic polarography for reprinting. This collection of papers may indicate some of the possibilities offered by polarography in the study of properties of organic compounds. The fact that the papers are published in one volume, not only makes the information more easily accessible for the reader, but also enables a direct comparison of related topics. The mode of selection is discussed in the Introduction. The papers reprinted in this volume are mostly based on work carried out in the J. Heyrovsky Institute of Polarography of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in Prague, in cooperation with my co-workers. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking all of them for the pleasure I got from this cooperation on the solution of varying problems of organic electrochemistry .

Electrochemistry

Electrochemistry PDF Author: J. A. Friend
Publisher: Elsevier
ISBN: 1483223345
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 973

Book Description
Electrochemistry is a collection of papers presented at the First Australian Conference on Electrochemistry, held in Sydney on February 13-15 and in Hobart on February 18-20, 1963, jointly sponsored by The Royal Australian Chemical Institute, The University of New South Wales, and The University of Tasmania. This conference highlights the numerous advances in the field of electrochemistry. This book is organized into 12 parts encompassing 70 chapters. The first parts deal with the solid-state reactions and processes in electrochemistry; the thermodynamic aspects of electrolytes; and the role of electrodic in corrosion control. The succeeding parts explore the concepts of equilibrium and non-equilibrium theory of double layers, as well as the various electroanalytical methods used in electrochemistry, including polarography, potentiometry, and coulometry. Other parts consider the areas of application of electrochemistry, such as in electroplating, anodizing, fuel cell, electrowinning, and electrorefining. The remaining chapters are devoted to non-aqueous electrolytes, molten salts, and electrode and electrochemical processes. Electrochemists and physicists will find this book invaluable.
