Réalisation d'un ensemble automatisé de mesures d'effet Hall et de magnétorésistance

Réalisation d'un ensemble automatisé de mesures d'effet Hall et de magnétorésistance PDF Author: Raphae͏̈l Pinet
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : fr
Pages : 197

Book Description
L'ETUDE PORTE SUR LES MESURES EN FONCTION DE LA TEMPERATURE DE LA MOBILITE DE HALL ET DU COEFFICIENT DE MAGNETORESISTANCE SUR DES SEMI-CONDUCTEURS 3-5. LES MESURES SONT FAITES SUR DES ECHANTILLONS D'ARSENIURE DE GALLIUM AVANT ET APRES DEPOT DE NITRURE DE SILICIUM. L'EXPERIENCE S'ARTICULE AUTOUR DE DEUX AXES: LE COEFFICIENT DE HALL ET LA RESISTIVITE. LA PARTIE THEORIQUE DONNE UN BREF APERCU DES DIFFERENTS PROCESSUS DE DIFFUSION DES PORTEURS DE CHARGE DANS LES SEMI-CONDUCTEURS POLAIRES. LES RESULTATS PERMETTENT DE VOIR QUE LES ECHANTILLONS SONT TRES COMPENSES. LE COMPORTEMENT DU COEFFICIENT DE HALL PRESENTE D'UNE PART UNE ANOMALIE A BASSE TEMPERATURE QUE LE MODELE DE HUNG A DEUX BANDES PERMET D'EXPLIQUER. LES RESULTATS DE MAGNETORESISTANCE QUANT A EUX, DONNENT L'EXPOSANT DE L'ENERGIE DES PORTEURS DE CHARGE EN FONCTION DE DEUX PROCESSUS DE DIFFUSION. ENFIN, L'ANALYSE DES GRANDEURS MESUREES AVANT ET APRES DEPOT DE NITRURE DE SILICIUM RENSEIGNE SUR LA DIFFUSION DE L'ISOLANT A TRAVERS L'ARSENIURE DE GALLIUM

Publisher: International Atomic Energy Agency
ISBN: 9789201063205
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 72

Book Description
This publication results from a technical meeting on phenomenology and technologies relevant to in-vessel melt retention (IVMR) and ex-vessel corium cooling (EVCC). The purpose of the publication is to capture the state of knowledge, at the time of that meeting, related to phenomenology and technologies as well as the challenges and pending issues relevant to IVMR and EVCC for water cooled reactors by summarizing the information provided by the meeting participants in a form useful to practitioners in Member States.

Flexoelectricity in Liquid Crystals

Flexoelectricity in Liquid Crystals PDF Author: Agnes Buka
Publisher: World Scientific
ISBN: 1848167997
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 299

Book Description
The book intends to give a state-of-the-art overview of flexoelectricity, a linear physical coupling between mechanical (orientational) deformations and electric polarization, which is specific to systems with orientational order, such as liquid crystals. Chapters written by experts in the field shed light on theoretical as well as experimental aspects of research carried out since the discovery of flexoelectricity. Besides a common macroscopic (continuum) description the microscopic theory of flexoelectricity is also addressed. Electro-optic effects due to or modified by flexoelectricity as well as various (direct and indirect) measurement methods are discussed. Special emphasis is given to the role of flexoelectricity in pattern-forming instabilities. While the main focus of the book lies in flexoelectricity in nematic liquid crystals, peculiarities of other mesophases (bent-core systems, cholesterics, and smectics) are also reviewed. Flexoelectricity has relevance to biological (living) systems and can also offer possibilities for technical applications. The basics of these two interdisciplinary fields are also summarized.

Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences

Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences PDF Author: Wade H. Shafer
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 9780306341205
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 320

Book Description
Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis· seminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) *at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac· tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 20 (thesis year 1975) a total of 10,374 theses titles from 28 Canadian and 239 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for theses titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. The organization of Volume 20 is identical to that of past years. It consists of theses titles arranged by discipline and by university within each discipline.

Nonlinear Optical Materials

Nonlinear Optical Materials PDF Author: Jerome V. Moloney
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 9780387985817
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 270

Book Description
Mathematical methods play a significant role in the rapidly growing field of nonlinear optical materials. This volume discusses a number of successful or promising contributions. The overall theme of this volume is twofold: (1) the challenges faced in computing and optimizing nonlinear optical material properties; and (2) the exploitation of these properties in important areas of application. These include the design of optical amplifiers and lasers, as well as novel optical switches. Research topics in this volume include how to exploit the magnetooptic effect, how to work with the nonlinear optical response of materials, how to predict laser-induced breakdown in efficient optical devices, and how to handle electron cloud distortion in femtosecond processes.
