Book Description
Would you like to know how to transition from abuse and trauma into radical aliveness? This book will allow you to not only overcome an abusive past, but also propel you beyond anything that has stopped you from full out living thus far. You will get a glimpse into the change that can actually help you move through your limitations and into creation, possibility and hope. Your life may never be the same. With an extensive history of abuse, starting when Dr. Lisa was a small child and well into adulthood, Dr. Lisa understands the cage that abuse can create and how it can affect every aspect of one's life. Through her own personal work she has not only carved the path for others to process their own abuse and create a life beyond it, but she is a catalyst for change in the world to eradicate all forms of abuse from the planet.Dr. Lisa Cooney has worked with thousands of people specializing in creating aliveness beyond the effects of abuse. "Working with Dr Lisa is the single best thing I have ever done for myself! My life has changed in ways I would have only dreamed of in the past." -Tricia "This work has saved my life, my soul, and my career! I cannot afford to not work with Dr. Lisa!" -MM Known as a tsunami of change, Dr. Lisa's unflinching look at the limitations, which paralyze, inhibit and destroy our lives, is unlike any other person or system out there. She is certainly one of a kind and almost beyond belief with her capacity to facilitate, create and entice us all into choosing the life we truly desire." -Amy Cristol Hirsch

The Romanian Mass Media and Cultural Development

The Romanian Mass Media and Cultural Development PDF Author: David Berry
Publisher: Taylor & Francis
ISBN: 1351882473
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 244

Book Description
This compelling book assesses the development of the mass media since the Romanian Revolution in December 1989 and the media's impact on cultural development, the public sphere, civil society and democracy. It controversially claims that Romania's failure to experience a thoroughgoing enlightenment project in its entire history remains a major obstacle for producing democratic ownership of the media and democratic development of society. Analyzing both the print and broadcast media and their respective effects on development, the book also discusses the effects of Romanian law on media and societal development, ethics, and media responsibilities. It concludes, however, that far from having an absolutely negative impact on Romanian post-communism, the media has helped produce a contradictory empirical form that equally contains positive moments in terms of subjective cultural development.

New Directions in Child Abuse and Neglect Research

New Directions in Child Abuse and Neglect Research PDF Author: National Research Council
Publisher: National Academies Press
ISBN: 0309285151
Category : Social Science
Languages : en
Pages : 376

Book Description
Each year, child protective services receive reports of child abuse and neglect involving six million children, and many more go unreported. The long-term human and fiscal consequences of child abuse and neglect are not relegated to the victims themselves-they also impact their families, future relationships, and society. In 1993, the National Research Council (NRC) issued the report, Under-standing Child Abuse and Neglect, which provided an overview of the research on child abuse and neglect. New Directions in Child Abuse and Neglect Research updates the 1993 report and provides new recommendations to respond to this public health challenge. According to this report, while there has been great progress in child abuse and neglect research, a coordinated, national research infrastructure with high-level federal support needs to be established and implemented immediately. New Directions in Child Abuse and Neglect Research recommends an actionable framework to guide and support future child abuse and neglect research. This report calls for a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to child abuse and neglect research that examines factors related to both children and adults across physical, mental, and behavioral health domains-including those in child welfare, economic support, criminal justice, education, and health care systems-and assesses the needs of a variety of subpopulations. It should also clarify the causal pathways related to child abuse and neglect and, more importantly, assess efforts to interrupt these pathways. New Directions in Child Abuse and Neglect Research identifies four areas to look to in developing a coordinated research enterprise: a national strategic plan, a national surveillance system, a new generation of researchers, and changes in the federal and state programmatic and policy response.
