De quelle façon les Québécoises sont-elles représentées à l'Assemblée nationale, à la Chambre des communes et au Sénat ? Peut-on espérer que les femmes, un jour, seront plus nombreuses sur les banquettes des espaces parlementaires du Québec. Québécoises et représentation parlementaire apporte des réponses à ces questions. L'ouvrage va même plus loin, en prenant en compte les sénatrices, un groupe de représentantes fort négligé par les recherches. Son originalité tient aussi à la longue période historique qu'il couvre, soit de 1791 à 2004.??L'ouvrage compte quatre chapitres. Le premier, à saveur plus historique, porte sur les droits de vote et d'éligibilité. Le second cherche à comprendre pourquoi les femmes, qui sont légèrement majoritaires dans la population, sont toujours minoritaires dans les arènes législatives du Québec.
