Enterprise Information Systems of the Future

Enterprise Information Systems of the Future PDF Author: Geert Poels
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3642366112
Category : Business & Economics
Languages : en
Pages : 287

Book Description
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 6th International IFIP Working Conference on Research and Practical Issues of Enterprise Information Systems (CONFENIS 2012), held in Ghent, Belgium, during September 19–21, 2012. The theme of the conference was "enterprise information systems of the future –– evolving toward more performance through transparency and agility," mirroring the trend toward more open and more flexible systems. In all, 53 contributions were submitted and after a rigorous review process 10 full papers and 15 short papers were selected for publication in this book. These 25 papers present a well-balanced mix between the traditional social sciences and the novel design science paradigms in enterprise information systems research, and they also include practitioner-oriented and practice-driven contributions. The topics covered fall into three categories: information management in businesses (e.g., enterprise modeling or business process management), information systems from a management perspective (e.g., service innovation, business intelligence, or decision support systems), and ERP offerings and implementations (e.g., software as a service or ERP case studies).

Metrics and Models for Evaluating the Quality and Effectiveness of ERP Software

Metrics and Models for Evaluating the Quality and Effectiveness of ERP Software PDF Author: Muketha, Geoffrey Muchiri
Publisher: IGI Global
ISBN: 1522576797
Category : Computers
Languages : en
Pages : 410

Book Description
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is a class of integrated software that uses software technologies to implement real-time management of business processes in an organization. ERPs normally cut across organizations, making them large and complex. Software researchers have for many years established that complexity affects software quality negatively and must therefore be controlled with novel metrics and models of evaluation that can determine when the software is at acceptable levels of quality and when not. Metrics and Models for Evaluating the Quality and Effectiveness of ERP Software is a critical scholarly publication that examines ERP development, performance, and challenges in business settings to help improve decision making in organizations that have embraced ERPs, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their activities, and improve their return on investments (ROI). Highlighting a wide range of topics such as data mining, higher education, and security, this book is essential for professionals, software developers, researchers, academicians, and security professionals.

Proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Dependability and Complex Systems DepCoS-RELCOMEX. June 30 – July 4, 2014, Brunów, Poland

Proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Dependability and Complex Systems DepCoS-RELCOMEX. June 30 – July 4, 2014, Brunów, Poland PDF Author: Wojciech Zamojski
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3319070134
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 528

Book Description
DepCoS – RELCOMEX is an annual series of conferences organized by Wrocław University of Technology to promote a comprehensive approach to evaluation of system performability which is now commonly called dependability. In contrast to classic analyses which were concentrated on reliability of technical resources and structures built from them, dependability is based on multi-disciplinary approach to theory, technology and maintenance of a system considered to be a multifaceted amalgamation of technical, information, organization, software and human (users, administrators, supervisors, etc.) resources. Diversity of processes being realized (data processing, system management, system monitoring, etc.), their concurrency and their reliance on in-system intelligence often severely impedes construction of strict mathematical models and calls for application of intelligent and soft computing methods. This book presents the proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Dependability and Complex Systems DepCoS-RELCOMEX, which took place in Brunów Palace, Poland, from 30th June to 4th July, 2014. The articles selected for this volume illustrate the variety of topics that must be included in system dependability analysis: tools, methodologies and standards for modelling, design and simulation of the systems, security and confidentiality in information processing, specific issues of heterogeneous, today often wireless, computer networks or management of transportation networks.
