Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of Nonlinear Systems

Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of Nonlinear Systems PDF Author: Michael Z. Zgurovsky
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3319598406
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 265

Book Description
Here, the authors present modern methods of analysis for nonlinear systems which may occur in fields such as physics, chemistry, biology, or economics. They concentrate on the following topics, specific for such systems: (a) constructive existence results and regularity theorems for all weak solutions; (b) convergence results for solutions and their approximations; (c) uniform global behavior of solutions in time; and (d) pointwise behavior of solutions for autonomous problems with possible gaps by the phase variables. The general methodology for the investigation of dissipative dynamical systems with several applications including nonlinear parabolic equations of divergent form, nonlinear stochastic equations of parabolic type, unilateral problems, nonlinear PDEs on Riemannian manifolds with or without boundary, contact problems as well as particular examples is established. As such, the book is addressed to a wide circle of mathematical, mechanical and engineering readers.

Methods of Qualitative Theory in Nonlinear Dynamics

Methods of Qualitative Theory in Nonlinear Dynamics PDF Author: Leonid P. Shilnikov
Publisher: World Scientific
ISBN: 9789810233822
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 420

Book Description
Bifurcation and Chaos has dominated research in nonlinear dynamics for over two decades and numerous introductory and advanced books have been published on this subject. There remains, however, a dire need for a textbook which provides a pedagogically appealing yet rigorous mathematical bridge between these two disparate levels of exposition. This book is written to serve the above unfulfilled need. Following the footsteps of Poincare, and the renowned Andronov school of nonlinear oscillations, this book focuses on the qualitative study of high-dimensional nonlinear dynamical systems. Many of the qualitative methods and tools presented in this book were developed only recently and have not yet appeared in a textbook form. In keeping with the self-contained nature of this book, all topics are developed with an introductory background and complete mathematical rigor. Generously illustrated and written with a high level of exposition, this book will appeal to both beginners and advanced studentsof nonlinear dynamics interested in learning a rigorous mathematical foundation of this fascinating subject.

Patterns and Waves

Patterns and Waves PDF Author: Takaaki Nishida
Publisher: North Holland
ISBN:
Category : Differential equations, Nonlinear
Languages : en
Pages : 716

Book Description
Part I of this volume surveys the developments in the analysis of nonlinear phenomena in Japan during the past decade, while Part II consists of up-to-date original papers concerning qualitative theories and their applications. Dealt with here are nonlinear problems related to general analysis, fluid dynamics, mathematical biology and computer sciences, and their underlying mathematical structures, e.g. nonlinear waves and propagations, bifurcation phenomena, chaotic phenomena, and fractals. The volume is dedicated to Professor Masaya Yamaguti in celebration of his 60th birthday.

Nonlinear Systems

Nonlinear Systems PDF Author: A.J. Fossard
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 1461520479
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 227

Book Description
Nonlinear Systems is divided into three volumes. The first deals with modeling and estimation, the second with stability and stabilization and the third with control. This three-volume set provides the most comprehensive and detailed reference available on nonlinear systems. Written by a group of leading experts in the field, drawn from industry, government and academic institutions, it provides a solid theoretical basis on nonlinear control methods as well as practical examples and advice for engineers, teachers and researchers working with nonlinear systems. Each book focuses on the applicability of the concepts introduced and keeps the level of mathematics to a minimum. Simulations and industrial examples drawn from aerospace as well as mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering are given throughout.
