Book Description
The CDF and D0 experiments have both collected large samples of W and Z bosons with the last Tevatron collider run (1995--1996) using p{anti p} collisions at (square root)s = 1.8 TeV. The author presents the results of QCD studies with vector bosons that cover a large range of transverse momentum space, pT, making this a testing ground for both perturbative and non-perturbative QCD. The measurement of the W and Z cross section, their width, the W and Z transverse momentum distribution and the angular distribution of electrons in W decays are described in this paper.

Book Description
The CDF and D0 collaborations have used recent data taken at the Tevatron to perform QCD tests with W and Z bosons decaying leptonically. D0 measures the production cross section times branching ratio for W and Z bosons. This also gives an indirect measurement of the total width of the W boson: [Lambda][sub W] = 2.126 [+-] 0.092 GeV. CDF reports on a direct measurement of [Lambda][sub W] = 2.19 [+-] 0.19 GeV, in good agreement with the indirect determination and Standard Model predictions. D0's measurement of the differential d[sigma]/dp[sub T] distribution for W and Z bosons decaying to electrons agrees with the combined QCD perturbative and resummation calculations. In addition, the d[sigma]/dp[sub T] distribution for the Z boson discriminates between different vector boson production models. Studies of W + Jet production at CDF find the NLO QCD prediction for the production rate of W + [ge] 1 Jet events to be in good agreement with the data.

Book Description
The 1992--1993 Tevatron collider run ended yesterday. [approx]21 (16)pb[sup [minus]1] of p[bar p] collisions at [radical]S = 1800 GeV were collected at CDF (D0). New measurements of the W and Z cross section x branching ratios indicate that [Gamma](W) is 2.033 [plus-minus] 0.069 [plus-minus] 0.057 GeV. The upper limit for the top quark mass, if it is produced in W decays, is 62 GeV/c[sup 3]. Gauge boson pair production studies are beginning to constrain electro-weak parameters. No neutral gauge bosons with mass> M[sub z] have appeared. Inclusive jet production and angular distribution studies are compared to NLO perturbative QCD predictions. A new topological jet analysis from CDF is sensitive to the low x gluon distribution. The direct photon cross section shows a steeper fall-off with E[sub t] than does the theory prediction. D0 has one candidate t[bar t] event in the dilepton mode. The lower limit on M[sub T[sub op]] has been raised to 99 GeV/c[sup 2].

Book Description
Results in QCD physics at the Tevatron from the D0 and CDF collaborations are presented, including results in jet production, photon production, W/Z bosons plus jets, and heavy-flavor jets. The importance of these topics in tuning Monte-Carlo simulations, constraining the parton distribution functions, and measuring cross sections of QCD processes which contribute significant backgrounds to searches for new and important physics is discussed.
