Be it farther enacted, That the auditor shall be Auditor's said entitled to receive a salary of twenty-five hundred dollars a W' year for his services, to be paid as prescribed in chapter 102, section 1, Revised Code, and he shall also have power, if he deem it necessary, to appoint not exceeding two clerks at a salary of $1, 000 each per year. Be it further enacted, That in all cases where Sum already suits have already been brought and are now pending in brought any of the mpcrior courts of law and equity, it shall be the duty of said court, and it is hereby required to give the defendant or defendants further time tor trial, until the fall term of, eightecn hundred and sixty-two, when the same shall stand for trial as other suits and in all suits which may have been heretofore brought returnable to the an term of eighteen hundred and sixty-one, the defendant or defendants shall not be compelled to plead or answer thereto for twelve months.
