La Psicoterapia Analítica Funcional (FAP) es una de las denominadas terapias de tercera generación, de origen conductual y contextual que aplica los principios del análisis funcional en la resolución de problemas psicológicos complejos en adultos. Aborda los problemas psicopatológicos al uso, pero sobre todo otros problemas más crónicos, resistentes a otras terapias, con problemas múltiples simultáneos, con problemas más difusos incluso existenciales. Los principios de esta terapia son bien sencillos: identificar y cambiar las conductas clínicamente relevantes dentro y fuera de la sesión, utilizando para ello cinco reglas terapéuticas que el profesional ha de tener presente en todo momento a lo largo del proceso de cambio.
