Al igual que en el curso en el que impartíamos Prótesis Dental I, hemos realizado esta Guía de prácticas con el fin de que sigan siendo útiles como referencia en el seguimiento de las mismas, despertando esa crítica razonada del alumno sobre el método, permitiéndole configurar la base de su formación continuada..Este segundo curso de Prótesis Dental II, por lo que respecta al desarrollo de las prácticas, consideramos que debe permitir el tratamiento de pacientes por parte del alumno, bajo la estrecha supervisión del profesor, y que el alumno conozca los criterios de evaluación que no son otra cosa que aquellos requisitos básicos que el tratamiento protésico de un paciente debe recoger, aquellos procedimientos que son imprescindibles para que una terapéutica recoja criterios de calidad y excelencia..Interesa que los criterios valorados permitan al alumno saber lo que es imprescindible para conseguir los objetivos establecidos, los cuales consideramos significativos en el desarrollo de la asignatura tanto por la responsabilidad del control de las técnicas protésicas como del momento en que se realizan las preparaciones propias del tratamiento de pacientes..El proceso de evaluación implica conocer aquello que se evaluará y cómo se evaluará para que sea útil tanto al alumno, como al profesor. Por este motivo en la guía se expone aquello que se espera del profesor de prácticas que está implicado en el proceso de evaluación, no sólo por el hecho de transmitir los conocimientos sino también por los conceptos mínimos que el alumno debe exigir de su aprendizaje.
