Book Description
The?'(958) meson has been studied in the reaction K−p →??', with K− beam momenta ranging from 1.70 to 2.65 Gev/c. The Dalitz plots of?' decay into??−? and?+?−? have been examined, and from them we have determined that the most likely quantum numbers of the?' are I{sup G}J{sup P} = 0+0−, although J{sup P} = 2− cannot be completely ruled out. They have also shown that the decay into?+−? is mediated by the decay?' →?{sup o}?. An examination of the production process has yielded further evidence for the J{sup P} = 0− assignment and suggested that the process takes place via K*(891) exchange in the t channel. Branching fractions and cross sections have been determined, and finally a search for a negatively charged?' in the deuterium reaction K−d → p??' has confirmed the I = 0 assignment for the?'.

Structure Of The Eta Meson - Proceedings Of The International Workshop

Structure Of The Eta Meson - Proceedings Of The International Workshop PDF Author: Jose Luis Goity
Publisher: World Scientific
ISBN: 9814546046

Languages : en
Pages : 174

Book Description
This volume focuses on theoretical and experimental aspects of the η′ meson. The η′ pseudoscalar meson plays a special role in QCD as its mass is largely due to the explicit breaking of the axial U(1) symmetry by the quantum fluctuations of QCD (axial anomaly). The precise mechanism that gives the η′ its large mass is not yet fully understood, and also the current knowledge of the η′ specific properties is far from complete. This volume addresses both theoretical and experimental open issues of relevance in our understanding of this peculiar meson.

Publisher: World Scientific
ISBN: 981121932X
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 800

Book Description
This is the conference proceedings for the 18th International Conference on Hadron Spectroscopy and Structure (HADRON2019), held in Guilin, China. It is among the most important conference series in the field of hadron spectroscopy and structure. Collecting more than 130 contributions from this conference, the book spans over the topics of meson and baryon spectroscopy, exotic hadrons, hadron production and interactions, analysis tools, QCD and hadron structure, hadrons in nuclear environment and hypernuclei. Summaries of the recent discoveries from Belle, BESIII, LHCb and other high-energy experiments, as well as recent theoretical developments in the above mentioned topics, are contained in this volume, rendering it as a valuable resource for researchers working on hadron spectroscopy and structure.

Quantum Mechanics

Quantum Mechanics PDF Author: Walter Greiner
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 3662009021
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 376

Book Description
"Quantum Dynamics" is a major survey of quantum theory based on Walter Greiner's long-running and highly successful courses at the University of Frankfurt. The key to understanding in quantum theory is to reinforce lecture attendance and textual study by working through plenty of representative and detailed examples. Firm belief in this principle led Greiner to develop his unique course and to transform it into a remarkable and comprehensive text. The text features a large number of examples and exercises involving many of the most advanced topics in quantum theory. These examples give practical and precise demonstrations of how to use the often subtle mathematics behind quantum theory. The text is divided into five volumes: Quantum Mechanics I - An Introduction, Quantum Mechanics II - Symmetries, Relativistic Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Electrodynamics, Gauge Theory of Weak Interactions. These five volumes take the reader from the fundamental postulates of quantum mechanics up to the latest research in particle physics. Volume 2 presents a particularly appealing and successful theme in advanced quantum mechanics - symmetries. After a brief introduction to symmetries in classical mechanics, the text turns to their relevance in quantum mechanics, the consequences of rotation symmetry and the general theory of Lie groups. The Isospin group, hypercharge, SU (3) and their applications are all dealt with in depth before a chapter on charm and SU (3) leads to the frontiers of research in particle physics. Almost a hundred detailed, worked examples and problems make this a truly unique text on a fascinating side of modern physics.
