Book Description
This volume consists of the proceedings of the 30th International Conference on Applications and Theory of Petri Nets and Other Models of Concurrency (PETRI NETS 2009). The Petri Net conferences serve as annual meeting places to discuss the progress in the ?eld of Petri nets and related models of conc- rency. They provide a forum for researchers to present and discuss both app- cations and theoretical developments in this area. Novel tools and substantial enhancements to existing tools can also be presented. The satellite program of the conference comprised four workshops and seven tutorials. This year, the conference was co-located with the 20th IEEE/IFIP International Symposium on Rapid System Prototyping (RSP 2009). The two conferences shared ?ve - vited speakers. Detailed information about PETRI NETS 2009 can be found at http://petrinets2009. lip6. fr/. The PETRI NETS 2009 conference was organized by Universit´ e Pierre & 1 Marie Curie as a part of MeFoSyLoMa , gathering research teams from numer- ˆ ous universities in Ile-de-France: CNAM, ENS de Cachan, Universit´ e Evry-V- d'Essone, Universit´ e Paris-Dauphine, Universit´ e Paris 12, Universit´ e Paris 13, and Telecom Paris-Tech. It took place in Paris,France, during June 22-26,2009. We would like to express our deep thanks to the Organizing Committee, chaired by Fabrice Kordon, for the time and e?ort invested in the conference and for all the help with local organization.

Book Description
This volume contains the proceedings of the 19th annual International Conference on Application and Theory of Petri Nets. The aim of the Petri net conference is to create a forum for the dissemination of the latest results in the application and theory of Petri nets. It always takes place in the last week of June. Typically there are 150 - 200 participants. About one third of these come from industry while the rest are from universities and research institutions. The conferences and a number of other activities are coordinated by a steering committee with the following members: G. Balbo (Italy), J. Billington (Australia), G. DeMichelis(Italy),C. Girault(France),K. Jensen (Denmark), S. Kumagai (Japan), T. Murata (USA), C. A. Petri (Germany; honorary member), W. Reisig (Germany), G. Roucairol (France), G. Rozenberg (The Netherlands; chairman), M. Silva (Spain). The 19th conference has been organized for the rst time in Portugal, by the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the New University of Lisbon, together with the Center for Intelligent Robotics of UNINOVA. It takes place in Lisbon at the same time as EXPO’98, the last world exhibition of the 20th century.

Book Description
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Application and Theory of Petri Nets, held in Torino, Italy in June 1995 The 26 revised refereed papers presented were selected from 73 submissions from 22 countries; in addition there are abstracts or full papers of the three invited talks. All theoretical and applicational aspects are addressed by the contributors coming from industry and academia. This volume representatively documents the progress achieved in this application-oriented area of research and development since the predecessor conference held one year earlier.

Computer Networks and Systems

Computer Networks and Systems PDF Author: Thomas G. Robertazzi
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 1461211646
Category : Mathematics
Languages : en
Pages : 418

Book Description
Intended for a first course in performance evaluation, this is a self-contained treatment covering all aspects of queuing theory. It starts by introducing readers to the terminology and usefulness of queueing theory and continues by considering Markovian queues in equilibrium, Littles law, reversibility, transient analysis, and computation, plus the M/G/1 queuing system. It then moves on to cover networks of queues, and concludes with techniques for numerical solutions, a discussion of the PANACEA technique, discrete time queueing systems and simulation, and stochastic Petri networks. The whole is backed by case studies of distributed queueing networks arising in industrial applications. This third edition includes a new chapter on self-similar traffic, many new problems, and solutions for many exercises.

Book Description
Simon and Ando's Decomposition and Aggregation theory is used to develop an Independent Decomposition and Aggregation method for the analysis of product form queueing methods. The queueing network is first transformed into a network with nodes of Infinite Server types. That network is then decomposed independently chain by chain.
