Excerpt from Private Acts of the State of Maine: Passed by the Fourth Legislature, at Its Session, Held in January, 1824 AN act to annex certain lands belonging to Bwahl, Glidden to the town of Alna. BE it enacted by the Senate and House sentats'ves, in Le stature assembled, The of the farm of web A. Glidden, lying field and Jefferson, as is described as follows, to wit Beginning at a stake and stones on the eas tatly line of Charles Glidden's land; thence run ning northeast as many degrees west as to strike Asa Smith's southwest corner, being about two hundred and ninety-three poles, more or less thence southeast one hundred and twenty-eight poles, to a pine tree spotted on four sides; thence southwest one hundred and forty poles, to Alna line; thence northwesterly, on said line, to the first bounds - be and hereby is set off from the towns of Whitefield and J ad'erson, and annexed to the town of Aloe Provided, That the said Enoch A. Glid den shall be bolden to pa all taxes assess him, in the said towns o Whitefield and prior to the passing of this act.
