La problématique est de remplacer l'hydrazine utilisée dans les propulseurs chimiques car, en dépit de ses performances en présence d'un catalyseur adéquat, son utilisation comporte des risques majeurs, générant un surcoût important. Pour cela, une nouvelle classe de produit énergétique a été étudiée. Elle comporte des composée ioniques tel que le HAN, le HNF ou le ADN qui en présence de différents réducteurs, pourraient répondre à cette demande. Les catalyseurs à base de platine sur alumine dopée au silicium poudre ou mis en forme, ont été caractérisés avant et après les tests d'évaluation par DRX, MET, BET et chimisorption. L'activité catalytique a été déterminée par analyse thermique, à l'aide d'un réacteur à volume constant et d'un réacteur dynamique. Le contrôle de l'orbite et de l'orientation des satellites est assuré par des petits moteurs utilisant la décomposition d'un monergol (= liquide énergétique) sur un catalyseur. Du fait de la forte toxicité de l'hydrazine, monergol actuellement utilisé, et donc des coûts supplémentaires induits, de nombreuses études portent sur son remplacement. Parmi les composés envisagés, des solutions aqueuses à base de nitrate d'hydroxylammonium (HAN, NH3OH+NO3-) associé à un élément réducteur sont très prometteuses malgré les températures très élevées (> 1400 ʿC) obtenues lors de la décomposition. C'est pourquoi, l'enjeu est de synthétiser des matériaux à la température la plus basse possible. Les catalyseurs à base de platine supporté sur de l'alumine dopée au silicium présentent une bonne activité pour cette réaction. Les alumines dopées (aérogel ou xérogel) en poudre ou sous forme de billes sont synthétisées par méthode sol-gel et sont stables à haute température (1200 ʿC, 5 h) ; les catalyseurs (Pt/Al2O3Si) sont préparés par imprégnation ou en une étape par méthode sol-gel. Les caractérisations avant et après réaction, par DRX, MET, MEB et mesure de surface spécifique, révèlent l'homogénéité des matériaux xérogels préparés par imprégnation. De plus, la décomposition d'un mélange HAN79%-eau débute dès la température ambiante sur ces matériaux, qui restent actifs dans l'eau même après 30 injections. Les produits formés lors de cette réaction sont alors analysés par spectrométrie de masse. Un modèle est également proposé pour décrire l'évolution de la phase active au cours de la réaction.

The forced migration of Africans to the Americas through the trnasatlantic slave trade created primary centres of settlement in the Caribbean, Brazil and the United States - the cornerstones of the New World and the black Americas. However, unlike Brazil and the US, the Caribbean did not (and still does not) have the uniformity of a national framework. Instead, the region presents differing situations and social experiences born of the varying colonial systems from which they were developed. Using the Caribbean experience as the focus, Christine Chivallon examins the transatlantic slave trade and slavery as founding events in the identification of a black diaspora experience. The exploration is extended to include the United States to exemplify contrasting situations in slavery-based systems and identifies the links between the expressions of culture emanting from the black populations of the New World and the diversity of interpretations of the cultural identities of the black Americas.Divided into three main parts, The Black Diaspora of the Americas firstly examines the foundation of the black experiences of the New World by considering the slave trade.
