Pre-Flood Technology

Pre-Flood Technology PDF Author: Ron Tottingham
Publisher:
ISBN: 9780984520855
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 148

Book Description
The "Christian" populace has for so long been duped by the unorthodox teachings of the Word of God concerning the antediluvian period, that it is refreshing to read something that sets the truth of the Word of God, concerning our ancestors. So long we have been taught that cavemen ranged the country sides, progressed into the use of many languages, gradually "invented" the wheel, until today we are the intellectual elite of the world. Man's cranial ineptitude today shows how little we really understand about the civilization prior to and immediately following the Noahatic flood. The "philosophers" of today's secular society would have us believe we evolved into what we are today, when in actuality, we are devolving into the thing God had to destroy. "As it was in the days of Noah...." I trust this work will be a blessing to you as you read it and that it will open your eyes to the Truth of the Word of God.

The Formation of Genesis 1-11

The Formation of Genesis 1-11 PDF Author: David M. Carr
Publisher: Oxford University Press
ISBN: 019006255X
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 320

Book Description
There is general agreement in the field of Biblical studies that study of the formation of the Pentateuch is in disarray. David M. Carr turns to the Genesis Primeval History, Genesis 1-11, to offer models for the formation of Pentateuchal texts that may have traction within this fractious context. Building on two centuries of historical study of Genesis 1-11, this book provides new support for the older theory that the bulk of Genesis 1-11 was created out of a combination of two originally separate source strata: a Priestly source and an earlier non-Priestly source that was used to supplement the Priestly framework. Though this overall approach contradicts some recent attempts to replace such source models with theories of post-Priestly scribal expansion, Carr does find evidence of multiple layers of scribal revision in the non-P and P sources, from the expansion of an early independent non-Priestly primeval history with a flood narrative and related materials to a limited set of identifiable layers of Priestly material that culminate in the P-like redaction of the whole. This book synthesizes prior scholarship to show how both the P and non-Priestly strata of Genesis also emerged out of a complex interaction by Judean scribes with non-biblical literary traditions, particularly with Mesopotamian textual traditions about primeval origins. The Formation of Genesis 1-11 makes a significant contribution to scholarship on one of the most important texts in the Hebrew Bible and will influence models for the formation of the Hebrew Bible as a whole.

Origins

Origins PDF Author: Ariel Adrean Roth
Publisher: Review and Herald Pub Assoc
ISBN: 9780828013284
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 388

Book Description
Are the worlds of science and religion irreconcilable? Has modern science with its theory of evolution disproved the biblical account of the origin of life? If one accepts the biblical account of origins, does one then have to reject science? Scientist and Christian believer Ariel A. Roth argues that taken together, science and religion give us a more complete and sensible understanding of the world around us, our place in it, and our ultimate meaning and fate. Roth examines such topics as the evidence for evolution and creation, the Flood, the strengths and limitations of the scientific method, and the reliability of Scripture. He concludes that the biblical model of a recent creation by God leaves fewer unanswered questions then either science's evolutionary model or any view between the two positions, such as progressive creation or theistic evolution. - Back cover.
