The latest revisions begin on leaf 2-6-34 and are dated 3/9/65. This comic treatment of historical events is the story of how John Paul Jones tried to help Catherine the Great and Potemkin fight the Turks and recapture Constantinople for Russia. The production opened March 11, 1965, at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit, Mich., and closed there April 10, 1965. The final work by Frank Loesser did not reach Broadway. It was directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse.
