Celle thèse s’intéresse aux critères oeclusaux de fin de traitement orthodontique, selon des notions statiques et cinématiques. La première partie est une revue de littérature. Elle souligne la divergence d’opinions concernant le choix de la posture mandibulaire d’étude. Certains recommandent la position dite d’ hitercuspidie Maximale, d’autres la Rela¬tion dite Centrée. L’ occlusion statique est définie selon des données occlusodontiques asso¬ciées à l’héritage toujours présent de la normocclusion. A l’inverse, l’occlusion dynamique a été moins étudiée. Les critères la définissant sont en partie non consensuels et s’appuient sur des notions occlusodontiques. Après la phase de “settling” ou d’autoarrangement, l’occlusion de fin de traitement doit permettre une équilibration occlusale si la concordance des axes in¬terdentaires est respectée. La deuxième partie consiste en l’analyse occlusale statique et ciné¬matique de fin de traitement. Les modèles des patients sont montés en articulateur, selon la position dite de Relation Inter-Maxillaire. Les résultats de l’étude sont confrontés à ceux de la revue de littérature et exposent les limites de l’équilibration occlusale de finition. Pouvons-nous déduire une attitude thérapeutique quant à l’interdépendance entre l’occlusodontie et l’orthodontie?
