Book Description
The year is 2280. The Pink Dwarf strip club is in orbit around Mimas, one of the moons of Saturn. Among the exotic dancers on board is Deb Lister, who is caught by her manager, Reginald Rimmer, sucking off customers in the private booths. She's sent into stasis for the rest of the tour without pay. Three million years later and Deb emerges from stasis and finds all the crew dead and Pink Dwarf adrift in deep deep space. Reginald has been brought back as a hologram and there's a mysterious life-form onboard. As they strive to find their way back to earth they encounter Sexbots, Genetically Engineered Milfs, parallel universes and a homicidal shopping centre hell-bent on destroying the entire universe. This erotic parody contains ridiculously descriptive sex scenes of a sci-fi nature. Expect sickness.

Horticulture
Southern Florist and Nurseryman
Garden Plants Taxonomy
Author: Bijan Dehgan
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 3031115651
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 1526
Book Description
Horticulture has remained far behind in understanding of botanical principles. Recent phylogenetic (DNA-based) reorganization of higher plants has revolutionized taxonomic treatments of all biological entities, even when morphology does not completely agree with their organization. This book is an example of applying principals of botanical phylogenetic taxonomy to assemble genera, species, and cultivars of 200 vascular plant families of ferns, gymnosperms, and angiosperms that are cultivated for enhancement of human living space; homes, gardens, and parks. The emphases are on cultivated species but examples of some plants are often shown in the wild and in landscapes. In providing descriptions, it is assumed that students and other interested individuals have no background in general botany (plant characteristics), or nomenclature. Fundamental features of all plant groups discussed are fully illustrated by original watercolor drawings or photographs. Discussion of the families is grounded on recent botanical phylogenetic treatments, which is based on common ancestry (monophyly). Of course, phylogenetic taxonomy is not a new concept, and was originally based on morphological characteristics; it is the DNA-based phylogeny that has revolutionized modern biological classifications. In practical terms, this book represents the horticultural treatment that corresponds to phylogenetic-based botanical taxonomy, to which is added cultigens and cultivated genera and species. Hence, the harmony between horticultural and botanical taxonomy. This book covers phylogenetic-based taxonomy of Angiosperms (Eudicots). A companion volume covers Ferns, Gymnosperms, and Angiosperms (Monocots).

Chemical Mutagens
Author: Alexander Hollaender
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 146158972X
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 256
Book Description
The ready acceptance and wide demand for copies of the first two volumes of Chemical Mutagens: Principles and Methods Jar Their Detection have demon strated the need for wider dissemination of information on this timely and urgent subject. Therefore, it was imperative that a third volume be prepared to include more detailed discussions on techniques of some of the methods that were presented from a theoretical point of view in the first two volumes, and to update this rapidly expanding field with current findings and the new developments that have taken place in the past three years. Also included is a special chapter by Dr. Charlotte Auerbach giving the historical background of the discovery of chemical mutagenesis. Methods for recognizing mutagenic compounds in vitro are a necessary preliminary step toward arriving at satisfactory solutions for recognizing significant mutation rates in man, which must be done before our test tube methods of detection can be considered reliable. Two chapters in this volume make important contributions to this problem. Due to the increasing activity in efforts to perfect techniques for detecting chemical mutagens and their effects on man, it is planned to continue this series of volumes as necessary to keep abreast of current findings.
